    Casino recommendation for a beginner?

    Hello everybody!

I am new to the online casino scene and have no idea where to start. I have two wishes for the ideal casino:

    1. A small bonus for the registration or for a small deposit. You know like $15 bucks for opening my account and to start playing. That way I could see how things for work for real without risking my own money.

    2. I would like to make big money. No I am not talking about thousands of dollars. For me big money is just enough to upgrade my hotel during my next vacation or to pay for a flight - you know like making 200+ bucks within a couple of month. I am not expecting much (i consider it as entertainment and not as serious work or is this wrong?) because it's still gambling. Do you have any suggestion for a game where the odds are fairly good?
I mean I have played blackjack before and use the basic rules (without counting) but is there anything else you could recommend to make at least some money with luck? I don't expect the slot machines to be fair-play for instance.

    Thanks for your answers,
    Yours,
    Christian Thomas

You can find a bunch of casinos which offer from $10 to $35 no deposit bonuses here:

    www.casinomeister.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=26

Also you can try Intercasino or BET365 where you have to make a deposit to receive the bonus but you can always withdraw your original deposit.
But always read their Terms and Conditions.

You can open an account at just about any online casino and play for free. That's the best way to try it out and not risk anything.

Blackjack - if you play the basic strategy, you pretty much eliminate the house advantage. Get a basic chart for a 4 deck or more blackjack game and follow it to the T. Doesn't hurt to read a book or two on the subject, either.

Once you have everything ready, log on to a casino and play in the practice mode until you're winning at least as often as you're losing.

I'm sure there are others who recommend other games, blackjack is just one of the more popular strategy games.

There are two ways to win more often when gambling:

    1. Know the game you're playing. Don't wing it. A professional player still plays against 50/50 odds.
    2. Always have a budget each time you play - how much you are willing to play that session, and never chase when you're on a losing streak. Also, don't be greedy when you're winning - increase your wagers conservatively.

    Hope that helps.

I am sorry to say that your post here is misleading. I hope you didn't do it on purpose.
First of all, there is 0.4-0.6% house edge with Black Jack. You will never eliminate the house edge with a regular BJ game.
Reading BJ books won't help. Most online casinos shuffle cards every hand so cards counting is out of the picture. The only things that help is to find the right strategy for the specific BJ game and stick to it. That way you will loose less, still you should and will loose more often than win. The more you play, the more you loose.
The only way you can win more often than loose is to *ahem* gain extra advantage with promotions. A professonal player never play with even odds, they only play when they have the advantage. Also professonal player place their bet according to their tolerlance of risk, not every professonal player bet conservatively.
Oh, and make sure you will get paid after you win.

    Hi Chris,

And welcome to the forum. Make sure you read "Info for Newbies" here:
    http://www.casinomeister.com/casinos.html#newbie

    Also read the "don'ts".

Most of the casinos listed at Casinomeister are available to play in the "free" mode. I would recommend playing for "free" until you feel comfortable with the games.

Here are a couple of tips:

1- Don't play any game unless you understand the rules.

2- Don't play any game unless you understand the odds.

3- Don't play with money you can't afford to lose.

4- Read the terms and conditions for your bonus account closely. Some of them required that you wager the bonus 30 times, some only required that you wager the bonus once. (Slotland only required that you wager the bonus once, which is exceptional.)

5- If you want to make a profit gambling online, learn to play poker very well. Or learn enough about sports to be able to bet on sports profitably.

6- A good book to take a look at is Gambling for a Living by Mason Malmuth.

    Hope that's helpful!

Actually first time bonus requires to wager 8 times (deposit + bonus) any subsequent bonuses would only require to do it once.
