I don't feel too bad about this. Casino Coins ripped me off once.

In my opinion good riddance to bad rubbish.

I got that e-mail too - and it's very bizarre!
It doesn't look anything like any previous official e-mail from them...
So I'm wondering if it's some sort of joke someone who doesn't like them is playing - maybe a disgruntled ex-employee...?

KK

I know this has to be a joke.
Who the H is Binkie, & I am no Binkie lol
If you send emails out at least have my name right.

Interesting.

Could it be that they are doing a "Grand Prive" and just dumping all the affiliates? Just seems odd they would talk about affiliate payments if things were going to continue as normal.

The strategy might be to stop taking new players for a little while and clear the affy payments, and then start a direct marketing campaign.

It is true they have closed the affiliate program and will continue to let existing players play. They may pay affiliates for a few months but I think even that will die down just as VIP casino did when that closed.

I know this has to be a joke.

Received the same email...but with the wrong username..It's seems to be true..
I'm only afiliate there because they not accept Romania players, so I can't say I'm sorry...
Dear bonusgamble
asino Coins will no longer be accepting new customers effective May 16th, 2011. .........

My e-mail had the wrong name on it too - it said "Dear mcraigh" - apparently every affiliate's name was wrong...!

Does seem that this is really happening, though it's VERY strange that there is no indication of this on the Casino Coins website - it just looks like business as usual;
In the "What's New" tab it just has a banner for the Dublin iShow which is next week. I wonder if they'll turn up there and face some tough questions from their affiliates!

I wonder if Bryan knows what's going on - these are accredited casinos after all...

KK

Well, I guess I'm now "listobonus"

I wonder who got my email :p

Very odd. Normally, I'd get a heads up on what's going on. Doesn't look good to me.

Not everyone got the wrong name on the email.........some of us are still waiting to receive the email. Should have know something was coming down about 3 months ago when they let Janet and about 10 other employees go.

If they ripped you off why do you still play there ?
LOL - I don't - I only played there once. Years ago. But, I also did business with them, for a very short period of time... that was where they ripped me off. In fact, it was Casinomeister that helped me get my money from CC... Thanks again Bryan and Max!

I wouldn't put anything past these guys...I put them on a par with Grand Privy.

I did hear one little fat bird whispering about a plan to reduce costs and get rid of affiliates... But the fat bird was really drunk... so ya just never know. ;)

Never understood this particular model, if the affiliates are making money then so is the operator, so it's not exactly a cost, it's a benefit. If they think they can do direct marketing though without the help of affiliates, best of luck to them, there will just be uproar if they pull a GP stunt and shut off future revenues.

Well, I'm not about to speculate - I'm just going to wait for them to either respond here or come out with a statement. Their casino rep is aware of this thread, so I hope it's sooner than later.

Well, just spoke to John Olson on the phone, and yes, it's true they are not taking on any new players. :(

They've taken the news of Black Friday pretty serious and are going to focus on retention for the time being. Casino Coins is being shut down.

They will be looking at options to take new non-US players in the future, but for now they won't be taking any.

Their status at Casinomeister is still the same - as long as they maintain a presence in the forum and maintain the standards for their current players, I don't have a problem with them.

Nick will be in Dublin next week if you want to buy him a beer.

It will be interesting to see what happens.
I almost feel like taking some bets on this...
What kind of odds do you think I should give for CC shorting affiliates in the long run?

Not that simple. Revshare for example is based on revenue not profit. The affiliate may well get some nice profit from the players they sent when the casino may struggle to break even. Add in if theres no negative carryover and the difference may be huge (relatively) in favour of the affiliate.

Revshare is only good for the casino as long as the affiliates bring in new players.

So as some have said its very likely CC will shut down the affiliate program down in the near future.

By shutting down meant that they will stop payments to affiliates for existing players at some time.

No, shutting down means that they will no longer be marketing the casinos; they will focus on retention. No one said anything about stop paying affiliates, or players for that matter.

I think they just decided to regroup, take it slow and not lose their affs in the process.

Concentrating on making existing players and affs happy and figuring out what to do with the US legal mess.

That would make sense to me and I hope it's so. I have no reason to distrust them (but then, I trusted Grand Prive also, so.... :eek2:)

You're right about the negative carryover, but everything else that an operator does is factored in to the rev share. They don't pay affiliates a share of money that doesn't exist, only a percentage of true netloss of the player. The negative carryover is to promote new players like you say, if someone is -£50k from a big player that's been brought through the door then the affiliate isn't going to be interested in trying to claw back to positive, so it's in the operators best interest to write this off

It seems like we keep getting one piece of bad news right after the other. Will things every get better for affiliates? My stomach hurts now....

I completely agree- affiliate marketing is of a win-win type, so why not eat yourself and let other eat as well ???
