I think the one you're looking for is in "Blasts from the Past" under the "Complaints" section.

I summed it up on the first post of the thread:

Editor's Note: The following is a classic thread that takes a number of twists and turns. English Harbour had upgraded their software and had unknowingly uploaded a corrupt file thus skewing their VP in a bad way. The players caught this and when the casino was first confronted, it was a state of denial. Yet when pressed further, they relooked at the situation and indeed they had screwed up. Spearmaster and I met with the operators in Montreal and were assured that it was an honest mistake. Spearmaster was also given the code to review as well. Players were compensated but EH remained in the rogue pit under the category "Bumblings, Blunders and Negligence" for quite a while. Three years later they became accredited after assurances of proper file management and auditing had been in place.
No one cheated at anything. They screwed up when uploading files (which affected only the double up portion of the game - not the game itself), and didn't notice there was a problem until it was pointed out. They paid they players who were owed anything and that was that.

Like many online "scandals", it was blown out of proportion. For instance - how many players actually use the "double-or-nothing" gizmo. That's throwing your money away and I doubt that any serious players use this. I could be wrong though.

Maybe we should start a poll

According to the WizardOfOdds, it's one of the best bets in a casino; it has no house edge.

I remember a couple years ago some guy playing video poker at one of the Jackpot Factory casinos, hit some huge payout and doubled.....and he won!

I can't remember the exact amount, but it was a LOT more than I'd be willing to risk like that.

I would use it sometimes if I knew for sure it was 100% random, however I am yet to be convinced after seeing bugs in major software that shows the result before any cards are chosen.

I've seen players do it with royal flushes up to 4 times.

    No thanks.

There are some B&M casinos that pay you points on double or nothing. This makes the DON +EV, especially if there is a multiplier day involved.

This is one of the few bets you can make in a casino that has no house edge - so please don't dismiss it out of hand.

I did say "I could be wrong"

But seriously, edge or no edge, I don't think the double or nothing is used all that much in VP. Maybe I'll start a poll in another thread.
