We ran one of these a couple of years back but I thought it might be interesting to see what current attitudes are.

What entices you to sign up to a new casino?

You forgot to add CM Accredited to the poll.
That is the reason I try new casinos.

I'd say that would fall under the 'good things in the forum' category really! I know it may sound daft but a decent website makes a big difference to me. You see so many shocking sites out there and people continue to sign up. If a company investing six figures into an internet business cannot spend money on their front end of the operation then they're not worth the risk. Cowboys who don't intend on building a brand or a reputation do this if you ask me

That's a good point. I've never really understood why some places have such cr@ppy websites

Whenever there is a new USA casino allowed it prompts my interest as there are limited options for us. So software was a choice of mine. I'm still a sucker for a good sign up bonus though

I'd need to dig it out but I remember signup bonuses won although I thnk there were less options and it was geared up more to the type of promos on offer.

Good point - can't edit it in to the right place without screwing up numbers so assume the "Good reports" one as Rhyzz suggests

Hadn't even realized how much I've changed since the beginning when I played every new casino because I could. If I could get there I played it. LOL I kept such good records too, (binders full) of everything about each one. I'm gonna empty those drawers out now. need the space. what a casino glutton I was.

It's interesting to me that information portals have such an impressive influence (59.57 percent polled thus far) in the decision whether or not to play at a new casino.

In that respect this poll echoes other industry surveys that have shown the growing value players place on reliable information portals like Casinomeister.

I remember being surprised some years ago when Trent University, commissioned by eCOGRA, conducted that massive international study of some 11 000 or more players and came up with a figure of 44 percent (I think it was) respondents frequenting online gambling information portals.

I guess it makes sense that as an online gambler becomes more experienced he or she seeks the information and common-interest value of joining a good forum and exchanging views on issues and venues.

I've always been frustrated that we have not yet found a way to reach newbie internet gamblers to extol the virtues of research and shared experiences available in forums - it could save so many of them from bad initial encounters with crappy online operators...and deny business to said operators in the process.
