A question about Slots from a beginner...

Hi, I do fully realise this question may seem daft, but as a newbie to playing slots i had to ask/clarify...

Is there any skill involved in playing slots??

You see, i am more of a roulette, blackjack and baccarat player, where there are certain tactics & strategies you can apply in your quest to win.

But with slots, are there any strategies in winning on them or is it simply put X amount of money in your account, then just spin, spin, spin?? (and hope for a win)

If this is the case, i still don't mind playing on them, it would just make things a lot clearer for me on playing on slots.

Also, what should i look for in a slot?? (i.e. RTP etc.)

    Thanks for reading.

What tactics and strategies might they be?

One strategy for slots is to double up if you can. This increases the return of the game. The more you double the higher the return.

IMO, each slots game is different, 1st thing is 1st.
understanding the variance of slots you are playing.

Also, some slots are AWP, better not mixed up with normal slots games.

You should look at the paytables before playing. Some games you must be playing max lines and/or max bets to win the jackpot or trigger a feature.

Games with stacked or expanding wilds, very high multipliers or large amounts of freespins tend to be much higher variance (few small/med hits, a very few very large ones), so govern your bankroll accordingly.

Play at trustworthy casinos. It's enough to gamble with your bankroll, you don't need to gamble on getting paid as well. CM has an accredited list, they all meet certain standards.

All casinos offer a free play mode. It's a good way to test the waters on unfamiliar games and find ones you enjoy before spending your hard earned cash in real. You may just find the music appealing, the colour scheme or the bonus round especially fun (I particularly like multiple pick features myself, and slots that have some kind of random bonus so you have hope until that last reel).

If you take bonuses, read and understand all of the Terms and Conditions. If you are unsure, contact support either by live chat or email (or if you prefer the telephone, ask them to immediately send you an email confirming what you've been told).

Most of all, have fun, accept that most sessions you won't come out ahead, and don't get too greedy! A decent hit can quickly disappear if you start betting too big for your bankroll. A good rule of thumb is probably around .5 - 1% of your bankroll per spin.

I never try to double when I win.

How about other people here, do you double if possible?

I always find that when a slot is paying well and I up my bet, it goes dead. Probably just my luck though.

Edit: Oops, didn't realize you meant the 'gamble' feature, I never use that.

Nope, feels like the feature is there solely to cheat you out of your winnings

I do. I double up, but keep my auto spin parameters in place of 100 spins or $100 loss, so I don't go too crazy.

my largest wins have been when I "pressed" my bets after a nice bonus spin or other wise larger than normal spin win.

Awesome. I just managed to come back on after doing house tasks to look if there were any replies... and WOW! I'm impressed. Thanks Guys.

Playing slots, seems a lot clearer to me now. I appreciate the advice on the bankroll %, stuff like that is always really useful.

I think i will certainly play around on free play/practice mode to get a 'feel' for different slots and see which clicks right with me.

As for my roulette strategy Petro, it's nothing earth shattering, i just mix it up between playing the fibonacci system, D'Alembert system and sometimes (i emphasise sometimes) the martingale system. All this is done while playing with a sensible bankroll management. So i don't go 'chasing' the win and end up losing more (IMO a very bad habit i've seen some of my friends fall into.) Hope that is of some help.

And once again, Thanks everyone for helping me with my query.
