Many of 3Dice's slots have the double feature as well. It's there on some of Playtech's too I believe.
Simmo, please elaborate on the exceptions that you thought up...
The first one's I can think of are skill based bonus rounds i.e. many of the islots on Rival powered sites, for example, Hole In Won; there are a couple holes in the mini golf bonus feature that one must know the break on.
Then of course you have the AWP slots like Treasure Island AWP, but that skill is quite different than the first example. As the MG press release says, "an Irish adventure in the great fruit machine tradition". And just like the fruities, there is a progressive pattern that once memorized, can be recognized so that when the machine is dead, the players recognizes such after so many spins and gets up. And when the machine is in a sequence leading to the big win, the player sticks it out and gets the jackpot. Of course, players with no knowledge may win and may lose, but they are at a distinct disadvantage from the "skill' players in any AWP slot.
Any other exceptions?
Fruit machine is a UK term for slot machine, yes you're right. It heralds back to teh days of the old 3-reelers where the symbols were predominantly fruit. The AWP machines provide some examples of these.
AWP is one for sure - thetre are certain "cheats" which you should know to make the most of them. The most common one being when you get "nudges", don't get a win but then the hold lights flash. If you nudged in 2 of the same symbol, don't press HOLD and the it will often spin in 3 of those symbols.
Additionally, there are a handful of online slots (Dolphin Tale on MG, Hulk Ultimate Revenge on Crypto and Queen Of The Nile 2 from Aristocrat spring to mind) where you pick the number of free spins/multiplier you want. If you multiply the no of spins by the multiplier they add up differently to create a bigger chance of winning IMO.
For example on QOTN 2, you can pick 5 at 10x, 10 at 5x, 15 at 3x, 20 at 2x. The 5 at 10x and 10 at 5x are better options (5 x 10 = 50) than say the 15 at 3x (15 x 3 = 45) but at the same time they increase the variance.
On Doubling Up, I would never do that unless the slot stated the chances were 50/50 which most (all?) don't.
Okay, Nice one. Thanks for that Simmo!
I will definitly be researching the variance of different slots before i put in any real money.
This info is great! Thanks a million![]()
Like Glunn said we have had the double up conversation before.
I even provided a source.
I know it through VP. The more you double the higher the return (RTP.)
I am unsure of the precise increase that doubling has on the return, but it would raise a game with a ~90% return to something like ~91% approximatly.
A few other things I know about double up;
- If the game has an RTP >100% doubling will lower the return.
- The lower the games return the more effective doubling up will be.
I.e. 90% RTP: ~91%RTP with double up. 99%RTP: ~99.01% with double up.
- Double up as much as the software allows you for the full benefit.
