BetVoyager beware - Multiball Roulette (no House Edge does not exist)

    Hello,

I'm new. Please see below an email I sent to BetVoyager about this game. I've not had a reply. It's self explanatory but I would encourage verification of my calculations.

Unless I am wrong, be warned.

Subject: Error in Rules of Multiball Roulette - Always Gives House an Edge
It is not accurate to advertise Multiball Roulette as a No House Edge game because the game is configured to always have a house edge.

Consider a bet on black. On a No Zero Wheel the first ball has an even money chance of ending up black. Assuming it lands on 2 black. Now the second ball cannot land on 2, which means that the second bet on black only has a 17/35 of winning. If you pay that bet at even money that represents a house edge of 1.43%. By similar argument the third ball on black only has a 16/34 chance of winning which translates to a 1/34 house edge of nearly 3%.

The stipulation that prohibits numbers repeating on a spin represents an in-built bias in favour of the house, so without a change to remove that stipulation (see 3-wheel roulette at other casinos) or an increase in the odds paid on the 2nd and 3rd ball, I don't believe you should be advertising this game as a No House Edge game.

Could you advise whether this is something that will be rectified, and if so when.

I believe the mathematics I have set out are quite straightforward.

    thank you.

You also need to consider what happens if the first ball lands on red, then the probability of the next ball landing on black is greater than 1/2.

Good point, these opposite effects probably cancel each other leading to 0% house edge. In general Betvoyager games are very cleverly designed to yield 0% house edge so I doubt they would a mistake on this.

Hi wooks, I don't know the answer to your question but I do know that most of the games at BetVoyager infact do have a house edge.
Most have a ~.1% house edge. This is quite deliberate, they just want to squeeze even more money from their customers.
I don't play there and I dont recommend playing there either. The 10% commission is a real killer.

I disagree completely with this. It's the only casino where you actually have some confirmation that the results are drawn fairly and randomly, something which you cannot know for certain with other softwares. As you can see from here the definition of zero house edge includes +/- 0.1% margin and some of their games are infact very slightly over 100%. The 10% commission is not even an issue if you play a long time and only withdraw after a large win. Commission is not obviously taken after each bet.

In addition most of their games have better than standard paytables, for example the paytable for Pair Plus bet in Three Card poker is 40/32/6/4/1 instead of standard 40/30/6/4/1, and this is for the regural (house edge) version. They also have a blackjack game whose return is 99.9% but is not under zero house edge category and therefore is not subject to any commission.

You are not likely to get this good odds at most on-line casinos or B&M casinos.

That was exactly my first thought.
Due to this, the probability evens itself out and so 0% HA is an accurate description.
