    what does this mean?

Hello, I've just started playing in an online casino (21 Nova), I've won a little money and, now to cash in. My request stayed in the "Pending withdrawals" for a few days, and at last I received an e-mail saying that my request was processed and my founds are being transferred to my debit card (a Visa Electron is what I used) but is says something there that I don't quite understand: "Due to a Visa policy, we cannot routinely issue credits against previous Visa deposits. Refunds to Visa cards are solely at our discretion. MasterCard refunds are not possible." I wrote to them asking what does it mean and they responded : "This means that we do not process withdrawals requested using Mastercard due
to its policy. However, since you are using Visa, we will proceed in
processing your withdrawal request using this card.."
Now English may not be my native language but I have a feeling that they're not telling me everything. If someone could illuminate me I would really appreciate it.
    With thanks, Vlad

What they told you is correct.
As far as I know Mastercard do not allow credit-backs to their cards from any gambling related companies.

Thank you very much! I asked because I'm still kinda skeptical about this online casino business and I don't know for sure which ones are to be trusted...the part about the Mastercard I understood plus I've read about it a few days ago....the part "we cannot routinely issue credits against previous Visa deposits. Refunds to Visa cards are solely at our discretion" seamed kinda blurry...but if u say it's routine I trust your opinion. Thanks again

It is this kind of muddled communication that causes trouble where there need be none.

This player was told he would get his withdrawal paid back to his VISA card, fine, no worries. BUT, then they had to muddle the issue by saying that VISA policy prevents this, which is complete rubbish. VISA policy is to let the individual card issuing banks decide. Some will accept these types of refund, others will not. Mastercard, on the other hand DO have a blanket policy of not allowing refunds back to cards, and Mastercards often don't work for casino deposits if the transaction is correctly coded as gambling.

VISA policies also seem to be country dependent, and seem to change from time to time, and casino to casino.

Recently, I have found that casinos no longer refund deposits back to my VISA card, except Casino Rewards, who still do refund the deposits back to the card, and only the excess to my chosen method.

If they cannot refund back to the card, and there is no other VERIFIED payment method, casinos will usually send a cheque.
