    Bonus--Yes or No

Hi.. I am pretty new to this on line gambling. Probobly not a good thing..Anyway, I was wondering what your opinions are on the bonuses offered. Take them or not?? I keep depositing $100.00 and then take a 100% or 200% match. Maybe not such a good idea...I find that I may play for a while but as soon as my wagering requirement is met I lose 'my' money in 10 minutes. Is it just my imagination or do they keep you going and once you meet your requirements they is no way you are going to withdrawl..I would like to know what the seasoned gamblers do. Accept or decline bonus offers. I play the slots.. thanks, debbie

It is rare that i take a bonus, except for the ND kind, i like the fact of no WR and no Max Cashouts when i play on my own money, now if you want longer play time, bonuses are good sometimes, it just depends on the wagering thats involved and if there is a max cap on it, everyone plays different starting out so try both options and make your own mind up which one suits you best as a player

I nearly always take a bonus with every deposit I make.

I'm a little confused about the bit I bolded there though - If you've met the WR, why don't you cash out?
The house edge is always against you - so the longer you go on playing the more likely you are to lose any money you have left in your account.
I always cash out if I make WR with a profit - then I can use the cash to claim another bonus!

However, not all bonuses are worth taking - far too many casinos these days put ludicrous wagering requirements and other limits on their offers which basically make them into "player traps" - you have virtually 0% chance of ever meeting the WR and cashing out anything at all...
You need to "shop around" to find the really good offers - they are out there if you look in enough places!

What would you consider a good offer?? Most seem to be 20X's all the way up to 40x's..I am in the USA, any suggestions for a good casino for slots. I just downloaded English Harbour. They are offering 100% at 20x's...Thanks

kk already explained it best way

same for me, i take a bonus on 90% of my deposits as i like the challenge, or how you wanna call it.

mostly if i play without any bonus and win i wanna cashout as i dont wanna bust out after iam up ;-) so with an attached wr its good for me sometimes as iam forced to play further and hit bigger smt as without the wr i would have cashed out before. also if i can make a wr on a bonus i cash out immediatly. i would never reverse withdrawals!

i had many cashouts always with bonusses involved and like kk said, you have to go shopping for the good offers. if a bonus offer seems to be bogusoffer i would never take it.

as i only play slots online it often make sense to take a bonus and there are some places where you always have a fair chance of making a profit.

always do the maths on a bonus if its worth it or not.

    cheers

The majority are 20+ but you can find some that are as low as 5 if you look in the right places. 15x can be found at numerous US casinos too, usually only up to a max of $200.

I always believe that if the landbased casinos do not offer those type of bonuses when you go there, then taking a bonus from an online casino will carry a certain amount of risk with it.

Those looking for long(ish) term gambling fixes love the bonuses but I prefer a quick in and out. (No inuendos please )

Personally (D+B)x20 is the maximum I would take if it's a cashable bonus of 100% or more.

If it's a Phantom Bonus (bonus removed from your account when you cash-out) I would want the WR to be a lot lower. The big % phantoms appeal to some players for longer play time, or if you want to "high roll" and hope to hit a HUGE win which could make the bonus profitable.
I very rarely take any Phantom bonuses myself.

As for casinos, well you're pretty limited in the USA; Vegas Tech (which is what English Harbour use), Rival or RTG - but as I said before, you need to look for the best value bonuses and may have to open lots of new accounts to take advantage of welcome bonuses which are generally more generous than follow-on bonuses.
At my last count I had signed-up to 192 different casinos...

Thanks again for all the advice. I can certainly use it. I have downloaded 8 casinos and today I downloaded English Harbour. I was very fortunate when I first started and played at Aladdins Gold. I did their welcome bonus.. I deposited 100.00 and I think they matched it with either 100% or 200%..I had to wager $6,000.00 to meet my requirement. Well I could not beleive it but I hit $5600.00 on Realm of Riches..So I played for 2 days and still had $5000.00 I could of withdrawn...However, with all the delays with paperwork, etc., I kept reversing the withdraw and spend over $2,000.00 of my winnings...Do you think I will learn??? probobly not....have a great day...

I think the best bonuses out there are the Microgaming ones such as those offered by Spin Palace or Ruby Fortune casino.

They regularly have 50% and 100% cash back promos if you lose. So you try and win with your own money with no withdrawal requirements whatsoever. If you lose you claim the bonus and try and win with their money which has a 30x playthrough requirement. These bonuses are also good for the big slot progressives.

If you win first up your not entitled to claim the bonus but who cares because you have already won.

They normally offer this a couple of times a week with a minimum deposit of $50. 3dice also has good bonus offers with 5x playthrough but they are not as regular and are capped at much lower $ amounts.

Dont take bonuses unless you are relly desperate. The playthroughs are unrealistic. I have never withdrawn when I took a bonus. When you dont take a bonus you are free to withdraw at any time. Nothing worse than hitting a fair sized payout and realising that you still have a long way to go on a playthrough.
