OnLine Casino's and types of advertising used?

Hiya: We all know that there are 3 basic forms of advertising for online casinos. E mails, Banners, and affiliates. on MSN they had a video of a guy who sells his time to different people and companys and such, to wear a T-Shirt with their logo on it, on U-tube, facebook, twitter, and so on.

This raises the question of why OnLine Casino's are not more creative in their advertising? Golden Palace went a little overboard several years ago, imhop, but had the right idea. The Poker sites pay poker players to wear their logo hat in the tournaments, so why not get others to do the same type of thing?

or are all just counting on their affiliates do come up with all the ideas for them? Your thoughts?

That's about right - we do all the hard work but with no guarantee of getting paid for it. Clever these casinos, aren't they!
Coming up with a good marketing idea is quite easy, but coming up with a good marketing idea which actually works is like chasing a rainbow... Definitely more luck than judgment.

I don't suppose you get this in the USA, but here in the UK we have LOADS of TV adverts for online Casinos, Poker & Bingo on all the main commercial channels - and on some satellite channels more than 50% of ads are online gambling related!

Yeah they sent a streaker painted with their logo into the olympics - TWICE. Also they paid some people $15K to name their baby goldenpalacedotcom.

Hiya: Yes KK there is no online casino advertising here. All you get is on ESPN, during the poker tournaments, is the .net commercials from poker stars, party poker, and the like. .net is the play for free sites.

Yea, Golden palace was even going to pay me to hand out flyers for them on the strip. But they wanted to pay me like an illegal alien to do it.....

I was hoping a couple of Casino Reps on this site would chime in and talk about their advertising methods/budget/and so on.

I've seen advertising for a couple of online poker sites on tv, and a few of the local casinos, but nothing for the online casinos. I'm wondering if there's maybe a law against that form of advertising in Canada?

    Thumbs up

Well, we try and be as creative as possible. You can see our youtube promos, and free chips, those are ways of advertising.

The problem with advertising to the US, is most companies don't want to draw attention from legislators. Party Poker was the company that did the most TV ads in the US and look at what happened to them (the owner had to pay hundreds of millions to settle a case). David Carruthers was one of the most public opponents of anti gambling laws and look what happened to him (went to jail). BoDog is a heavy US advertiser (specially through MMA stuff), and look what happened (lost over $20 million in processors being shut down).

The bottom line, we want to be creative, but our #1 goal is to take care of our customers. We believe if this is our focus, we can gain a reputation that can take care of our marketing for us. That is our goal.

    Kind Regards,
    Nicolas Johnson

    Hi there,
Good discussion topic and I agree with you in regards to that you do deserve some creativity. Affiliates do play an important part which does go unappreciated at times, but they should not be left with sole responsibility of marketing a Casino; it’s a partnership effort. I personally believe that good advertising of a Casino engages a player to participate in your advertising, for example using the social medias, such as Twitter, Facebook, ect. This also helps in providing easy accessibility of another form of Customer Service in which we all deserve.

    Cheers,
    Cindy

I know nothing about marketing but put it on twitter, facebook etc. isn't that very similar to television in that Everyone will see it? Thats why I don't go to those places. All my relatives do! If I want to spend the day with them I will go see them.

My apologies for posting to an old thread but given the subject matter I thought it’s appropriate...

We’ve been looking into creative ways to make InterCasino’s Facebook and Twitter pages more fun for fans/followers. In a similar way to what Buzzluck having been doing on the forum (setting competitions and challenges), we’re exploring cool ways to set competitions on Facebook and Twitter where players can win bonuses. For example, next week we’ll be running a riddle competition where fans have to crack a riddle to win a bonus (in fact the bonus code IS the answer to the riddle). The idea is to do more competitions and challenges like this in the future as we think this is a really good use of social media and something players will enjoy being a part of. If anyone has any cool ideas or thoughts I’d love to hear them!
