    ahh suspicious i am

tell me what you guy's think i sign up at this casino on the credible list here to day i return for a visit
i get prompted to do the secrete question and answer thing [that in it self is not a problem], but they supply a drop down box with only two questions you can use

    1-your mother's madian name
    or
2 -the city that you were born in

and you cant make up a fictitious one like what's your cats name etc

now they got every thing else on you about your identity , in the states here
thats enough info with every thing else they got to [steal your identity]

do you guy 's think thats a bit much ??

    No.
As a security measure it's very, very good.
Fraudsters trying to access your account can find out a great deal of info about you - but those two things are going to be very hard for anyone to find, and near impossible for them to guess.

i have never been cornered into using those two info subjects nor would i ever give them
to a on line casino in the caribbean they got enough info that there ever going to need already

with that specific additional info any one with the combined info that there looking for doesn't need the target person for any thing more

with out a persons knowledge they could move in on your banking cc
business like thats the qualifying question's that the cc company asks

just my 0.2 cents i was surprised that they were that specific about
a on line casino q/a thingy

    Yanno...

I am kind of in agreement - that the casinos SHOULD NOT be asking the same type of info that the banks ask for.

It does afford them the opportunity to steal your identity - and if perhaps that was the MAIN goal of the casino - that would be exactly an interesting way to do that.

Imagine if a casino was set up as syndicate MOB - and their whole purpose was to steal identities to be used later.

They would set up and act just like a casino - until the time came to disburse the information out to their stoolies (OK - yeah it's a movie in the making - but a definite possibility.)

    Hmmmm...

I think you should be allowed to come up with YOUR OWN questions - so that you could vary your answers.

BoDog has long done the maiden name/city - BEFORE the banks started doing it.

STILL - they were the only ones doing the specific info that I know of.

But - it is not a long shot that this info could be found or located and abused - as this IS the exact info banks are now using to identify people.

But let's face it - most of us gamblers do not have THAT much money in the bank at one time. LOL - so personally it wouldn't really be worth it for a casino to try and steal from the bank account. LMAO!

And they can already access your bank acount - once you give them your card info/bank info/etc.

    Yanno?

    ANYHOW - there you go.

I agree that those questions shouldn't be FORCED questions - but even YAHOO is doing things like this to make sure your security is in place.

Personally - I would prefer that the person should be able to make their own question up - with their own answer - it would be a lot harder for thieves to figure that stuff out.

"BoDog has long done the maiden name/city - BEFORE the banks started doing it."

Hi wagerwitch. Do you mean online banks and processors because maiden name has been the security question of choice for all my life that I recall and I'm getting dangerously close to forgetting my mother's maiden name.
And from one good imagination to another, wouldn't it make more sense for a casino to just operate like a casino and have a 'nice steady income'?

ROFLMAO; I can hear the Mission Impossible theme already.

My banks didn't start asking for Maiden Name etc. until just recently on the phone - it was soooo bizarre I was like - WHY DO YOU want to know - you think you might know her or something? LMAO!

Anyhow - BoDog did it for me first (on my account).

Oh - and could they make more money from theft of identity - ABSOLUTELY - can you imagine how much credit card credit they could rack up?

My bank wants me to remember yet another pin, a telephone pin. After a few times of telephone pin, huh? I wrote the pin in indelible ink on my undies so until they all wear out, I'm in good shape.
