    Rockbet John - Vegas Days

I don't PAB very often on the forum but I have been getting emails from Vegas Days signed by John Wright or Rockbet John claiming that I won a contest for a 300% bonus. Great huh....not so....the 300% bonus comes with a nice 30X playthrough....so my question is "what did I win"? Nothing! It may be just me but that is a really crappy marketing techique. I bet I'm not the only "contest winner" on that contest! Not only did I win but it was a draw contest at that!!LOL

    Dear XXXXX,

I am happy to let you know that you have won a draw for a generous 300% bonus to play on slots, keno and scratchcards. On your next deposit you can triple up on bonus credits up to a maximum $300 bonus.

Just claim your bonus and make your next deposit. Don't forget players get cashback bonuses every Monday.

    Sincerely,

    John Wright

I'll have a look at those emails but 300% is rarely offered.

I've seen it offered quite a bit at Rivals...including Vegas Regal and a couple of others, but even those are just listed as promotions not as winning something.

Now if there really was a contest and I won a draw for a 300% bonus deposit with a 15X playthough...then that could be considered as really winning something. But with other Rivals have 300% promotion with 30X wagering then it's just a marketing ploy and not a contest.

Just my opinion and everyone has their own.

True. And in my opinion I totally agree with you.
Any e-mail which says you've "won" something which everyone gets as standard anyway is just a scam ploy which should only be expected from rogue casinos.
I hope this was from a dodgy affiliate & not Vegas Days direct, if it was I hope John has a good excuse for this one...

The player won a 300% bonus. If the player doesn't want it they don't have to take it just like a no deposit bonus. Players win those ones too but if enough people are offended by it I'll consider removing it but most of the players that get it like it and anything over 100% bonuses are rare.

Did the OP 'win' a 300% bonus or was it simply awarded to him as a player. There is a big difference.

In order to WIN something, a player must have ENTERED a contest, or draw. There are MANY scams where people are tricked into believing they have "won" something from a contest or draw they never entered, nor even knew existed.

If this player REALLY "won" this bonus offer, it should have PREVIOUSLY been CLEARLY presented to them that they had ENTERED this contest or draw in the first place, perhaps by depositing $x and wagering $y on day zz.

It seems this player was unaware of entering anything, so assumed that anything they have "won" was part of a scam.

Funnily enough, I have just "won" $15 from our Nemesis here at the forum ("Gold VIP Club" crapsino). I have now "won" this THREE times, but I have no account, never have done, and hovering my mouse over the link reveals that this casino now USES IT'S OWN WEBDOMAIN to send out the spam - maybe in an effort to convince me I really HAVE "won" $15 from THEM, and not one of their non-existent spammy affiliates.
It is antics like these that make it problematic to just send a player an email saying they have just "won" something from a contest that was not previously made clear to them was running. They are likely to end up in the spam bin along with all the FAKE "win" notifications, rather than generate a deposit (which was the intent).
