    Casino loyalty

Let me tell you a story....there's this one casino (I'm not going to name them but it's an MG) that I used to play at a LOT, mostly because they took eWalletXpress deposits. I wasn't making huge deposits, but frequent - like almost every day, and sometimes several times a day.

This nameless casino has a pretty slow withdrawal process compared to a lot of other MGs, plus whenever I made a withdrawal the only way I could get it was by bank draft (which cost me $30) so needless to say, I didn't withdraw very often because of the wait and the cost - it wasn't really worth it to withdraw anything less than say $250 because I'd have to wait for about 10 business days (or more) and I'd lose $30 from them and then another $15 from my bank as well.

So one day a few months back I got pissed off and wrote them and said "Why do I keep playing here? You didn't give me anything for my birthday, I get stiffed on my comp points, I play every day and you never give me any kind of bonus - I've made $XXXX in deposits here this year and zero withdrawals, last year when I DID withdraw it took bloody forever and cost me $45 every time - close my account!" They wrote back and said "Our payout is yadda yadda....we don't do bonuses...comp points are done like blah blah....we have 10% deposit bonuses on weekends...etc - are you sure you want to close your account?" I said "no I'm just being pissy" and about a week later I finally won something and cashed out $1000.

ok now to the point of the story - since then I haven't deposited at the nameless casino again (mostly because I discovered that most other MGs take UseMyBank and withdrawals are a lot faster and cheaper!) But interestingly enough, this nameless casino that doesn't give out bonuses has given me a no deposit bonus THREE times since I stopped playing there. They wouldn't give me anything when I was coming in and dropping my cash in their lap every day, but now that I'm spending my money elsewhere, they're tossing me goodies?

Anyhow, as much as I appreciate the gesture, it still kinda pisses me off - it's like most of the other MG casinos who throw bonuses left and right to new players, but the loyal players who have been playing there for years don't get diddly.

I just wanted to get it off my chest, thanks for listening.

I know exactly what you are saying. Since a lot of these casinos have an in depth knowledge and experience with gambling psychology, they can be very astute when it comes to how to treat their players. For example, many casinos know that a player will often "chase" losses and so they will see no need to entice a player to play or to reward loyalty. Of course, once you stop.... all of a sudden you are important and they want you to come back. And unlike most brick and mortar casinos, online casinos general reward loyalty based on how much money you give them first.

A few months ago, i went to treasure island in las vegas for four days. played a ton...mostly dollar slots and some expensive penny slots, over $25,000 in playthrough (maybe more, i forgot what the players club point conversion was). Up and down thousands at times....ended up losing a few hundred over the entire trip so i was really happy. The VIP host comped our entire stay (and my brother-in-laws stay) and the room service. I was given free rooms for our next visits at any of the MGM hotels, a bunch of free shows..(though i'm not a big fan of britany spears, LOL), etc. I get one offer from an MGM casino every week for free shows or tournaments...even at the Bellagio. i only stayed ONE time at treasure island and look at all the rewards.

My point is that my loyalty AND play were rewarded...not just how much i lost. And yet, i can lose $1000 at an online casino and i'll be suprised if i'm offered $20 in place of free rooms, food, shows, and gifts.

With MUCH less overhead... i'm always suprised at how poorly online casinos compare to brick and mortar casinos when it comes to rewarding loyalty.

Hiya. At %8.9 for instant deposits, and %10 for wire deposit back into your bank acct., You might want to not only play somewhere else, but get a different method of getting your money into/out of the Casino. imhop........

I remember when I first started playing at Jackpot Factory - I made two $25 deposits and lost them both, then the next day I got an email from them "Oh sorry your luck was bad, we put a $25 freebie in your account" I was absolutely shocked! Then after a couple more losing deposits, they tossed me another little something. Then it was a $10 or $25 or $50 freebie via snail mail for awhile...then suddenly they just quit doing it. Now they throw me a free tourney entry once in awhile, but that's about it. Ah the good old days....

Let me just clarify that I'm not really complaining that the casinos don't give freebies. I mean yeah it's nice to get one once in awhile, the point of my original post was that it seems like they care more about me when I'm NOT playing than they do when I am.

Reminds me of this one guy I dated...I was packing up and leaving and he threw out this "I want to marry you" on my way out the door.

Just as a side note, since i know KK can't really advertise his own site directly.... he has a wonderful list of casinos with A LOT of information including promotions and ongoing loyalty bonuses, etc.

It would be too much work to add a "how loyalty is rewarded" category since it is so individualized, but a lot of information nonetheless.

    Just a side note....

    chayton...i'm also curious!
