Well, at the RTG casino, Inetbet, that jackpot win would be removed from your casino account as soon as you had made the wagering requirements, and you would receive $375.00. You would not have an opportunity to play on and increase your comps.

If I was this Mike guy, I would take the opportunity to play that 200K and generate as many comp points as posssible, rather than say fine, give me $375 and return the win to the progressive pool.

This is not the case of a player playing on a progressive with an ordinary promotion, but one specifically designated for a game with a huge jackpot. Irish Luck knew that they would not have to pay the jackpot winner, but would receive the funds from Rival anyway.

Whole thing makes me angry. Really angry. Once again, I feel players have been taken advantage of by backroom manipulation.

But if I was the second winner, playing without any cashout restrictions, I would be raising a big stink.

But unless they are a forum member here or elsewhere, they are probably blissfully unaware of how they have been cheated out a jackpot which should have been much higher.

If you don't think Rival had any knowledge of this promotion then think again, really.
It is actually far more likely that the Jackpot was hit Twice because the weighting was changed than because of 270,000 spins being played, still it can't be proved.

As for Mike wanting to get what He can out of it, who can blame Him?
That doesn't make it right though.
What about all the players who have contributed plenty to the pot on this slot with their own money in an attempt to win the Jackpot?
They have to watch Rival touching themselves up in self congratulation on what a nice little con they have pulled while they offer this Mike a whores fee and he blows off all their money back to Rival.

Excuse me while I throw up.

Hm, I don't think Rival would do this - change the reels, OR want a casino to do this. It makes them look bad. Why sacrifice their future as a gaming company by pulling a stunt like this for what really in the end is pocket change to a big software provider? No, I think this is an operator who gambled on a player winning the JP with a cashout restriction, and grabbing the cash that way. If I were Rival I'd be pissed, and wonder what the operator would have done if the JP hadn't been hit and they had owed a tidy sum to cover the promotion. If a casino pulls a stunt like this, makes you wonder what kinda operation it is. But then again, the s*** is on Rival for not paying out jackpots directly and not blocking max cashout bonuses on their progressives..!

I just read through this entire thread and i am absolutely sick to my stomach. The most obvious crap to me is, EVERY SINGLE FREE CHIP BONUS YOU GET, NO MATTER WHERE ITS FROM, THE RULES ALWAYS STATE, YOU CAN NOT USE THE FREE CHIP ON ANY PROGRESSIVE. But now, one this one chip, they WANTED everyone to play the progressive? There is no reasonable explanation that they can possible give but the TRUTH, they wanted someone to win on this, so they could impliment there max cashout rule. Talk about being TRANSPARENT!!!! THEY ARE THIEFS, THATS TRANSPARENT!

If RIVAL is going along with this crap. They do need to be all rogues, either that player gets every last dime of the jackpot and they eat crow, because this was there screw up and they are being called on it, or...Every single dime of "PLAYERS" money goes back in the pot and IRISH LUCK gets fined and shut down by RIVAL for Corruption.

I'm not sure that this is always the case with all free chips. They usually have a max cashout, but sometimes do not expressly forbid progressive play. 32Red recently had a promotion with one free spin on MegaMoolah at max bet of $6.25 and they had no Max Cashout for this one particular promotion. Player's loyalty bonuses at 3Dice have no max cashout, and you can play on the few progressive games they have.

I would think they ran it by Rival management before running the promotion.

Hi, here is an update from the other forum. I do hope the extra cash prize is at least around the $14k mark.

And I hate the way the casino manager says I am going to clear your balance even if you haven't cleared the bonus, when he knows Mike has cleared the bonus. Not giving mike any choice what so ever with his balance.

    .................................................. ...............................................

I have and update for you guys, here is the e-mail,

    Hi Mike

My name is Tristan Lange. I'm the casino manager at Irish Luck.

    Congratulations on your win!

Even though you missed out on the big win, we’d still like to give you some other prizes.

We are going to issue you your win of $375 without the need for play through if it hasn’t been completed.

You can keep all current comp points.

We are going to give you $1000 into your account so that you may either play or withdraw the money.
There will be no wagering requirements and NO LIMITS to your win

I would possibly suggest you play slots as you seem to have the Midas touch

BTW – This $1000 will not have a negative effect on your affiliate as we will pay him an extra $1000 to compensate.

Please know how grateful we are to have you play with us and all the above is 100% confirmed to go
ahead as long as Rival sort out the payment.

    Extra Prizes

Gary and I have been talking and we have a great idea, we would love to send you and a friend to Atlantic City or over to
The Mohegan Sun In Connecticut with a bit of spending money for a weekend away...

    - How does that sound?

Also another idea we had was to enter you into a poker tournament:

I have quite a few colleagues and friends in the poker industry, so we’ll be able to find something very suitable out for you.

    - When is a good time of the year for you to travel?

    - Is there any particular tournament you’d like to enter?

    About the win itself:

    - If you can tell us your thoughts about the win, and how you felt when
you saw the jackpot come up on the screen, that would be fantastic.

Also, please send your screenshots over, it's not often we get to see the progressives hit the jackpot

Gary tells me that you’ve said you’re happy to help us with some promotional material about the win – thanks so much for that!

    It’s greatly appreciated.

I'll contact you about that within a week. I'll also keep it simple, so it's not a drag for you.

    Your account:

Just to confirm, I’m going to “reset” it today (manually complete the promotion) today.

If you see your balance suddenly ‘disappear’, don’t panic! We’ll get some money into your account shortly.

Again Mike, welcome to the family. We're glad to have you play with us and wish you all the luck at the casino

    All the best!

    Regards,

    Tristan.

trying to keep ya updated as this go's.. Boris3073 when you read this e-mail you'll see i was listen to you my friend, thank you so much, will keep you guys up todate as this keeps going...

If it smells like s*it, and it looks like s*it, then it is almost certainly s*it.

What are these guys on about??

The ONLY - and I mean the ONLY -way that this deal would be acceptable to players who have spent their own money on this game is for Rival to REPLACE the balance of the $215k in the jackpot....OR give it to the person who hit it shortly afterward.

I dont see how ANY arrangement that involves the casino or Rival keeping the money is acceptable.

I still think it reeks rather badly that the jackpots went off so close together. No, its not impossible, but coupled with that bird-brained promo its enough to make me vomit.

Lets face it...there can only be one reason why there was a max cashout applied to this bonus. You dont have to be Einstein to work it out.

I smell a roguing coming up...

If they are allowed to get away with this, it will set a precedent for other operators to do the same thing by offering free spins on progressives, hoping that some player will get lucky and win, and they'll get to keep the money minus whatever they have to pay to reseed the jackpot.

I AM GOING TO THROW UP.... SERIOUSLY!!!

They are trying to 'buy off' the player with $1,375 and a free holiday instead of giving him $215,000....!!!
And ask him to do a press piece for them telling everyone how delighted he is at being ROYALLY SHAFTED...!
Irish Luck, you can not be fucking serious!!!

And they're giving the affiliate $1,000 - what the fuck for??????

Sorry about the language, but I've never been so incensed by anything in online gambling before.
If this is the final settlement, and the balance of the $215,000 is not paid to the player who hit the second JP (or, if that was on a free chip too, put back in the pot) I am blacklisting Irish Luck forever, and I call upon all other affiliates to do the same.

    Shame on you Irish Luck
