    The inconsistencies of Thunderstruck

Just a few observations here, any comments would be interesting.

So, there I was playing my - now frequent - 9p spins, and started off hitting the feature at a phenomenal rate. Each 30 or so spins. You know how it is, sometimes you autoplay and tick the little box that stops at the feature, because you want to watch. But then you get fed up with the only win being the initial trigger for the 3x or whatever. So you uncheck it. By the way, I've NEVER hit five rams - how long do I have to wait! Then the balance goes up and down, hitting £7 often on the freespins, which I'm quite happy with, and then nothing....
    and nothing.....
    and nothing.....

For around 1800 spins. Yikes I thought. My balance had gone down by two thirds. That's variance at its worst. So I didn't know what to try. I've used KasinoKings 'strategy' before, sometimes it's worked, but I've never had as much success as what he gets! So I dropped down to 3 lines, 5p each (hang on, that's up, but never mind ) and within 20 spins, I got a 250x with wild. Suddenly my balance has gone up to before the 1800 dry period. With freespins following in the next 50.

Now I've always believed that the lower the wager, the more chance of hitting things such as 5 scatters etc. That could just be a rumour, but regardless of that, you are far more likely to hit 5x playing 45p a spins as opposed to £45. Whether that's because of needing an exhaustive balance, who knows.

Don't get me wrong, the playtime I've had on a small deposit has been surprising. But 1800 spins without a feature, up the stakes and hit twice....it's normally the other way round!

I'm curious to know any experiences anyone else may have had.
Still waiting for those five rams

I have to say that Thunderstruck is definitely NOT one of my favourites.. in fact more the opposite.

In about 4 years I think I've only hit 2 decent wins on it (over x100).
I've seen it's streaky side as well, believe me; 5 or 6 features in 100 spins, and 5 or 600 spins with no feature. Sometimes it can seem very low variance, and others it is very high. Too unpredictable for me - so I don't play it much.

I love it - still my favourite slot after all these years

1800 spins without the bonus is a record though! I've been 800 before, but never over 1,000! The lower bets thing is a rumour. The odds of the bonus round are approx 1 in 123 from memory with an average 34x payout. I've had 100x a stack of times and 500x on several occasions, although 5 rams only ever once in what must be millions of spins.

It's medium/high variance, but if you think this is risky, try "Break Da Bank Again" (5 Reel)!! Now THAT's high variance!

    1 in 143 for feature 5 rams are 1:146,667 and 5 wilds nearly 1 to 4 million.

I have crossed the 1000 spin limit on both Dolpin Tale and Isis. And trust me, it was a very expensive experience on Isis (payout <40%).

Some years ago I made the plot of the probability for hitting the feature within a certain number on spins on Thunderstruck.

Thanks everyone for the links and info. I only like this slot because when I first tried online slots, this one happened to be the first I picked. And by chance, I hit pretty big (think it was about £300 off a £2.25 spin - not big compared to others, but when it's the first time you've played slots online, it was a better return than the £35 jp from pub fruit machines

Like most of us, I get wound up when you hit the free spins on a higher bet, say 90p, and get nothing, yet on the usual 9p ones I've been getting £7-8, Not megabucks, but when I'm trying to grind out every possible spin on the Slotsmeister, it helps So the frustrating thing is the average of 1 in 143 which clearly seldom happens. Obviously it's not set in stone but when I've tried spinning say 130 at minimum stakes, then slowing increasing the bet until the feature hits, either it doesn't come and I bust out, or I get bugger all. Hence why I don't really tend to go by those anymore. My little bit of luck of hitting the 500x at 5p a line was just that - might have only been £25 but it was a lot more than I'd be getting if I continued grinding. If it takes 500 spins to hit a feature, I think at the least I'd be wanting back in return what it had taken me to get there. But that never happens.

Perhaps if those elusive rams decide to pay me a visit sometime soon I might quit this slot! I don't think I'd even hit four before yesterday, so at least I have three of those under my belt now. Can't quite match the millions of spins though, doubt if I've done more than 500k. But the hunt will go on...for now.

One thing I am interested in is how a slot can be 'dry'. I've read about others saying if they don't hit anything in a hundred or two spins, they move on, so it seemed strange in this case that it went from 1 feature in 30 spins to 0 in 1800! Bearing in mind that at 1800 I decided to stop the autoplay, rather than a feature triggering.

Simmo - As it happens, I tried that slot only yesterday. I noticed there was someone in winner screenshots who'd hit something ridiculous like a $700 win from a 18 cent bet. What with the 5x wilds and 5x free spin multiplier, it looked pretty good. Although, seeing someone else with a big win and me trying to get likewise, has failed, miserably, before! And going by the results I had on it, don't think I'll be paying it a visit anytime soon

The potential is huge...but as Simmo said, it can be the biggest moneysucker ever invented. I don't play it often, but I do like it simply for the possible payout like what I got the other day, on a very small bet. The other game I like along the same type of variance, is No Worries. I've had $200 bonus rounds on 18 cent bets on that as well. I've also had sessions where I've gone upward of 500-600 spins without ever seeing a feature. The trick to those two slots for me....is to keep my bets very small ie. 18 or 27 cents.

If you'd care to pass any of that luck my way, I'd be only too willing to accept

I'm thinking I might have half a chance on winning the slotsmeister....well, I'll continue to think that at least until I see Vinyl appear on the board. Then I'll give up

    Cheek!

Would this be even if I just played one spin

Besides, it's sjn you need to be afraid of - he beat me again, figured out my tactic this time, and I got stuffed. Worse still, it turned out Mark awarded DOUBLE.

happens to me as well, it seems at certain wagers it does really decent and at others it just takes it. I've noticed the same thing with land slots also.

Generally I try different wagers until I get some decent results.

I've also seen slots do horribly with all pay lines covered and by lowering the number of pay lines it hits or triggers the bonus.
