What on earth is a "fixed odds slot"
Please explain!

KasinoKing's News < Rival release their first ever 50-line slot.
SIX new softwares to try ~ Reel Layouts and Jackpot Odds ~ New USA Friendly Casinos!
It has to be good, as they are excluded from WR on Playtech slots bonuses.
I have played these, and they appear as simple 3 reel slots with a paytable that might be expected on any 3 reel slot.
Perhaps they just mean that the paytable represents odds, not actual money, but this can be said of ANY slot where you can change the size of your bet. They may also mean it is an unweighted 3 reel slot, such that it operates to the true odds shown on the reelstrips.
Maybe there is an explanation somewhere, but if it simply that the paytable represents odds, then ALL software has these, but they use different terminology.
Where I have seen these, they seem to be a house slot, and just the one, for each Playtech casino, with the other slots being the general fare available at most Playtech casinos.

My reading of fixed odds would be that the outcome of the game is preditermined by the generation of a random number
which picks a payout value from a table, then forces a reel combination to
reflect this value. The composition of the table would determine the chances
of any winning (or losing game) being awarded.

Hiya. Station Casino's here in Vegas have this on their progressive. They will promote it on their main sign something like this, "Current Progressive at $109,000, GUARENTEED to hit by $15,000".
The online Casino may be something like this. It would be kinda neat to be playing when it was at $14,950 and had not hit yet.
