End of the road for CryptoLogic software...?

This past few weeks have seen the announcement of yet more Crypto's shutting up shop. They were one of the first softwares I ever played online, and I still personally rate it as very good.

These are the ones I played & what happened to them (dates might not be 100% accurate):-

CyberSpades ..... Sometime in 2002(?); Disappeared without trace...
1 on 1 .............. Sometime in 2004(?); Disappeared without trace...
49er ................. Jan 06; Switched to RTG - then closed down May 07
Ritz Club ........... Sep 06; Changed into Club on the Park (Playtech) - then closed down Jan 08
Peach ............... Sometime in 2007(?); Closed down
Total Bet ........... Aug 07; Closed down
Littlewoods ........ Oct 08; Switched to Random Logic (absorbed by 888.com group)
Will Hills ............ Jan 09; Switched to Playtech
Omni ................. Jan 09; Switched to Playtech
Caribbean Sands . Jan 09; merged with Omni - now Playtech

So by my reckoning that only leaves Intercasino & VIP (part of the Intercasino group)...
How much longer until they vanish too...?
    Smile, it may never happen...

this is sad as caribbean sands was one of the first casinos i played at and won money , they always had great customer service and i still miss those rapid fire jackpots to this day, man those were the good old days when you could play where you wanted..........laurie

    crypto

Will Hills ............ Jan 09; Switched to Playtech
    [[/QUOTE]

did not realise will hill had changed ....played there today and it was still c/pto software ....they have even put a few new games on there in the last month.... just checked and if you go to http://casino.williamhill.com/ the download option is still crypto ...but if you log on to www.williamhillcasino.com then the download option is playtech ...so looks like they are aiming at different markets ?? playtech site looks very us orientated , whereas the cryptosite has a very uk feel and is still linked to the sportsbook main site for deposits and accounts.

but im baffled as to why they would change to playtech ......compared to crypto software it is just mickey mouse and looks like they hired some school kids to design the graphics and artwork....(although school kids would probably do better) , not in the same league if you ask me.

on the same subject....do you remember "Harrods Casino" ....they were good , only online casino that i didnt make a loss at, instant or realtime payment back to your account as well. those were the days........
not like this year ...i just get the feeling that % RTP has been tweaked down about 5 to 6% at some.... ....

You can add WPT and Playboy to that list too.

I believe Parbet still uses Crypto.

You know- I'm a right idiot sometimes!
The whole reason I started that thread was because it was just announced that Playboy is closing... then I forgot to put it in my list! D'oh!

I looked on the WPT site but couldn't see any reference to their own casino any more - so I figured that had closed too. But I never played there so it wouldn't make my list anyway.

Never heard of Parbet - have to have a look at that one!

I thought I read somewhere that Will Hills Crypto casino is only available until until Jan-31st... but I'll be blowed if I can find it now...

I agree about switching to Playtech - I do like their software, but it's far inferior to Crypto IMO.

Of course I remember Harrods - and so does my bank account; £450 higher thanks to their generous bonuses!
That was a GREAT software too! It was Kismet - then became Cantor.
That's dead now 'n all - the last casinos with that software closed down a few months back...

    Sad and confused

We'll probably find out this week, but I think Crypto are moving into focusing into licensing specific games to providers. When Littlewoods moved to 888, 888 & Crypto struck up a deal to licence Spiderman, Fab 4 or whatever it's called and one or two other crypto games. I think this is the future and Crypto can continue with Inter.

All the best: casinos, bonuses, poker-rooms .
