Is patience the key to winning?

I've been conducting a few sort of experiments recently, to try and prove a theory of mine.

I have deposited £150 in 4 casinos, 2 software types (Microgaming & Playtech). When I have made about £10-15 profit on each casino (which doesn't take that long really), I exit the casino untill the following day. Of course you have good days and bad days, but I have followed this system for 7 days now and at all 4 casinos combined, I have recorded a total net profit of £220.

    £220 / 7 (days) = £31.42
    £31.42 / 4 (casinos) = £7.85

So at all 4 casinos, your daily profit is £31.42. Just for being patient and not getting greedy, which is often a problem of mine Now this isn't my prefered kind of gambling as I'm an "all or nothing" type player who plays with much bigger stakes than this, I was just conducting a theory. Now you could deposit double/treble what I did and make double/treble what I did, it depends what type of player you are.

Has anyone else recorded any similar success with anything remotely close to what I have been doing? Patience is the key

Sorry LB, but you've just been lucky. This can't work.

If you play 5 minutes today and 5 minutes tomorrow (I know you're playing to a balance, not a time but the principle's the same) then you're playing 10 minutes in total. The software doesn't care what day it is, so your second 10 minutes is just as likely to win or lose irrespective of the day you play on or the state of your balance on that day. Quitting while you're ahead can work, but there's only one way it can work - you must never ever gamble again! That's probably a bit too extreme for most gamblers!

I don't believe there is any harm in quitting while ahead.

But as Stevecut pointed out, this only works in the long haul if you quit permanently.

The longer you play, the more you will lose, statistically. You can lose 100 in 5 minutes or 5 weeks.

If you win 100 and lose it in five weeks, in my eyes you are a winner! I love the play.

this is true in most cases imo, just had that happen not 15 minutes ago, was playing at inetbet, started out on a 13.00 deposit(love odd numbers) worked it all the way up on 20 to 40 cent bets at a time, had it all the way to 220.00 or about, started playing 1.00 bets, cashed out when i got down to 75.00, went back reversed, gone in less than 15 minutes, so the lesson i need to apply is when i have used patience and im ahead is " CASH THAT MUTHER OUT" and leave it alone, damn it...........the end

Nope. Got nothing to do with it.

Always take a bonus - playing with a bonus is the key to winning.

You will lose if you don't take a bonus. Play in free (fun) mode if you prefer not to take a bonus - at least you won't lose and you will still derive some entertainment value.

Having taken a bonus the manner in which you play and manage you wagers will dictate the extent of winnings. Bonus + Skill = "the key"

Never play without a bonus if you want to win. If you don't want to win then seek counseling from Gamblers Anonymous or similar body of professionals.

Self discipline and patience are very important if you want to win or at least
stretch out the play time.Cant count the number of times I have built up a decent bank from a small deposit over a few days, only to blow it in one mad session as a result of playing for too long and losing concentration instead of pressing the withdrawal button.Luck does play an important part as well, you can ride out a bad session and recover if you play sensibly.

Yep - I agree with these 3 bits of your post, but not the 2 I left out in the quote.

I think patience is vitally important too. IMHO impatient people are more likely to give up 'the plan' and do rash things in their urgency to win. This is particularly important with slots when you sometimes have to sit out 'dry runs' for many many spins...

Here's a good example; I'm currently working through a massive $50,000 WR at Slots Oasis. I deposited way back on the 17th of December but so far I have only wagered $14,880. Right now I have $803 profit. Hopefully by remaining patient & not doing crazy big bets I'll make it through WR & still be in the black. Of course luck does play a big part, but as I always say; all players will have luck - it's what they do with that luck which counts!

Has anyone else recorded any similar success with anything remotely close to what I have been doing? Patience is the key
I tried this a few months ago exactly the same way you did. It worked great for nearly 2 weeks then I found it started going in reverse. I would log in each day to make $5. But I would seriously struggle to win at anything. And found the games to be a lot harder than they had been and it became impossible to win just $5. I ended up losing the whole lot over the course of the next week. My conclusions are one of the following: A. maybe the software learns your behaviour. And stops you from winning anymore. A failsafe to protect casinos from this kind of player.
    B. The software is streaky as hell.
    C. Is all down to house edge. Because you're only playing short sessions a day. Over the course of weeks those short sessions gradually build up into one longer one and this is when the house edge starts to make itself noticed and takes it's cut for the casino. So sooner or later there will come a point when you will lose and struggle to make the small daily target profit. As the house edge will start to make it's presence felt.
