    A New Year........Will We See More New Casino's ?

its sure seems like we have seen alot of new casino's springing up, some have been good and some have shown their true colors within a short time, i was wondering how many of the new one's , will be here this time next year or will have found themselves in the rogue pit?

i have found aladdins and jackpot capital to be among the best of the new casino's imo that i have played at so far, alot of players have found good luck and fortunes at cherry red casino, do you think we will see more spin off casino's from club world and rushmore and some of the better class of casino's?

i was just wondering about the other player's thoughts on these new casino's and what you all think we might see in the new year, will we still love our old faithful casino's or will we move on to some of the newer one's? ............laurie

The answer would be a resounding yes but their entry will be more than offset by the demise of a whole load of casinos. With so many casinos strugging to share a piece of shrunken pie, I just cannot see how their numbers can expand. Hopefully, the entry of the new ones will weed out the rotten ones. We surely deserve better service from the casinos.

Totally agree with all of that, except the expansion bit. 6 billion people is an awfully big number - for every 1 person who quits playing online I'm sure there are at least 2 more to replace him...

We could have a competition here - guess how many new casinos will launch in 2009!
Here's my stab in the dark:-
    Crypto: 0
    MG: 8
    Playtech: 6
    RTG: 5
    Rival: 7
    WagerWorks: 2
    Wizard: 4

My favourite new one of 2008 was Absolute Slots - mainly due to their 2 unique slots, but the fact I made a nice profit there too helps a bit!
My current most favourite is Ladbrokes and I sincerely hope that stays the same way through 2009. Previous favourites have been Intercasino & William Hills, but they just 'faded away'.

I don't know about that, but I can see an increase in greengrocer's apostrophe's.

This common misuse has been affectionately dubbed "the greengrocer's apostrophe" by specialists in English usage. It isn't really fair to single out greengrocers, since other professions and many individuals also use apostrophes in this way. But the greengrocer's apostrophe is commonest in handwritten signs and greengrocers are prominent among those who often have to write quick, informal notices for public display.
The greengrocer's apostrophe is most often found on signs outside shops on goods for sale: "Tool's reduced"; in shop windows: "Sales assistant's wanted"; and on public noticeboards, especially in personal advertisements: "Lawn's mowed at competitive rates".

so sorry g/m if my typing is not to your liking i had never typed before i joined this forum, im a 2 finger typer and i have never used spell check, so thanks for the greengrocer's lesson and making me feel a fool, i will be doing less typing from now on, thank you...........laurie

I'll put my two cents in with or without the proper use of an apostrophe, but..........here we go.........?I'm sure that wasn't proper either but who cares!

I hope that there are less casinos out there in the future. It wouldn't bother me in the least if we had 30-40 good casinos and a couple of great ones as compared to the hundreds of poor casinos to chose from today.

Actually, I dont think there will be less people playing except for US residents but extra players from China and India will more than full the vacuum. However, the amount of spare money that can be used for gambling purposes will greatly diminish so casinos will have to face lower turnover. if individual players happen to win big and not on progressives this would certainly place them in financial difficulties. The owner of Sands casino (Las Vegas and Macau) was the third richest man in the US slightly more than a year ago. Now the Macau outfit is losing so much money that he has halted most of the construction work in the enclave. There simply isnt enough money to go around and that applies for the online industry as well.

I am not certain of future developments but the land-based casinos may be eyeing the online market for diversification. This would make life tougher for the present leaders in the industry.
