    Norton 360 - thoughts?

Sorry this is OT, but I couldn't see any other suitable section to post it in!

My old Norton AV is about to expire & I need to renew.
Has anyone tried Norton 360 - if so, what do you think of it?

They claim it speeds up your computer by getting rid of unwanted crap (which is exactly what I need as my PC runs at snails pace!), but does 360 actually do what it says on the tin???

Anyone who's tried it - comments please!
    Thanks.
    KK

Does it automatically uninstall the rogue casinos?

Would be a nice feature, lol.

AVG and CA here....both excellent...I find Norton and McAffee both slow down a computer terribly and they block too many sites you want to visit..a lot of training is needed for these two security suites...too much work for my blood...AVG and CA ask once and it's done....just my tidbit

Personal experience... Hubby's computer got slammed with a jillion trojans, spyware, keyloggers, etc. in a drive by attack with Norton 360 announcing (proudly) that it had blocked 'bloodhound'. Whoopdechit... No mention of the half dozen other nasties still having a party on his desktop and IE homepage. It also said his computer was clean when his desktop was totally hijacked, and several nasties were still trying to access the internet.

I've had better service out of Norton's Internet Security package now on both our computers. Not quite as bloated as 360 and seems to actually work. *crossing fingers*

However... when it's time to renew this summer, I'm going with something else. Maybe Kapersky's... or maybe AVG...
Alice: But I don't want to go among mad people.
The Cat: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.

    Virus!
    Very helpful... not!
The first one lists Norton 2006...
And the second one seems to contain a virus!
It kept opening new web pages at a rate of about 1 every 2 seconds - there was nothing I could do to stop it so I had to litterally cut power to my PC!!!

    Thanks a bunch!

After many years of trying to get agents in my office to stop using Norton or McAffee knowing how bad their computers ended up with all the garbage they let through ..I finally convinced them to change and you wouldn't believe how bad their laptops were...had to wipe a few clean for them to just get it going again..Now with new new suites loaded, they are working seamlessly...

Norton and McAffee offer a lot of gadgets and gizmos but are all fluff..no substance..try another and you will be amazed by the difference ....
