Minimum bet raised at Intercasino roulette ?

I've played InterCasino off and on for the past three years, and I've generally been very satisfied with their service. I just came back after a hiatus of a few months, and I was a bit surprised at the changes on their European Roulette table. I'm not exactly sure when the change occurred, so this news might be a few months old.

I'm one of those stubborn "systems" players, I usually start off with just a handful of $1 bets on some streets. As the game goes on, I raise my bets in a Martingale manner. I never hit the maximum limit for either an individual bet or the overall table limit. Typical for Martingale progression, it usually ends when I hit the end of my bankroll :-)

Now that I just came back to play once more, I found that I couldn't operate my trusted old system anymore. I was thoroughly confused by error message TR3179, about not meeting the minimum bet requirements. Only after some experimentation did it dawn on me that the minimum bet is now $10 for any inside bet, and even $50 for outside bets. Then I noticed the pop-up "tooltip" in the overview room, and indeed, it now declares the European Roulette table to be confined to $10-$100 limits.

I can't afford to play my system from $10 initial bets, so I was relieved to find a workaround to this new minimum bet. It turns out that the limit setting $1-$100 is still available for "Play Alone" ; this means not playing live at the same table with other online players anymore, like I always used to do. I'll gladly take this possibility, and I don't think I'll miss the chats with other players much, but I think I vaguely recall that in the old days, the bounds were actually $1-$500.

What prompted InterCasino to make this change ? And why would they allow more lenient limits for private play than for online multiplayer sessions ?

But seriously, it's pure speculation on my part, but I would think that since the live dealer games go much slower than playing alone, that they'd raise the limits so they have more money coming in per spin.

They don't have live dealer games. The OP is talking about multi-player virtual roulette. Although this is slower to play than the solo version.

Nothing surprises me any more about casinos ludicrous minimums on Roulette.
I mean, why let players spin slots from 1c/line, but force them to play with $1 chips on roulette?
IMO casinos are losing out on $10,000's of potential income from roulette lovers who want a 'little flutter' without facing crazy $1 chips & $10 minimums. It's insane!

All the roulette players I've ever seen (including myself!) like to stack up chips all over the table. Virtually no-one is going to play just 1 x 10c chip per spin.
Likewise most people don't have the budget to stack up loads of $1 chips all over the table.
Comparing with slots again; How much does it cost to develop a new slot machine? It's got to be $10,000's I would think. But casinos don't have to bring out 3 new roulette games every month do they!

IMHO casinos who insist players use chips bigger than 10c are losing out big-time. I also think it's a tragedy that this most iconic of all casino games is priced out of reach of the vast majority of 'casual' gamblers.

It's really stupid, and it's really sad.
