Thumbs down Rival's New Progressive Slot - MG Rip Off!

    Hi all,

Received notification that Rival have just released their first progressive slot. However the name of this slot is "Major Moolah".

We've seen this type of underhanded actions before, nothing more obvious that 32Vegas who attempted to ride the shirt tails of 32 Red success.

However, imho this stunt by Rival is worse.

Mega Moolah - Microgaming progressive slot.

Major Moolah - Rival's New progressive slot.

It's calculated and underhanded. It's an obvious ploy to confuse the unknowing player and ride the success of Mega Moolah and its branding.

Rival don't have any qualms in doing this, so I have to question Rival's integrity and what they may get up to behind closed doors.

I'm removing all of Rival banners from my sites today because this is unacceptable.

Wonder if Microgaming will take any legal action?

Personally, I know the difference between Rival and Microgaming. I also can tell the difference between "Major Moolah" and "Mega Moolah".

I wouldn't feel tricked by Rival because their new progressive slot has this nomenclature.

The only thing I hope is that their T&C's matches reality.

Ah, but if you add Major Millions this is an imitation at best. Whether this new progressive should use the name in question depends on the slot itself. Probably, if the pool aint big enough it could be called 'Minor Moolah'.

I agree, I'm sure most if not everyone here can also tell the difference. But not every player uses casino meister. So not everyone is savvy to the difference.

You can't tell me that Rival have not used this name in an attempt to ride the success of Mega Moolah.

32Vegas trying it on with 32Red. Major Moolah is doing the same with Mega Moolah, imho.

There lays the issue I have with this.

Agreed. It probably is based on MG's idea. But then again, all online casino slots seem to be that way.

I guess I just feel unless it's an exact copy (like a Lion King theme) that I wouldn't really feel tricked by Rival's marketing of a slot called "Major Moolah". 3Dice has "Medieval Moolah". I find alot of similarities between the themes of MG slots and RTG slots. There are mermaid themes, ancient Greece themes, Egyptian themes, etc...

It's hard for me to picture a novice online gambler thinking they want to play a game called Mega Moolah and being tricked into downloading a different casino and playing a game called Major Moolah instead.

Good opinions all. This will now boil down to how Rival markets this new product ie whether they will make any references or display similarities to the MG ones.

I'm just glad Rival has finally got a progressive - if I can have fun w/ it or win on it I don't care what they call it.

    It's definitely Minor Moolah!
This jackpot slot starts at $2500 with a maximum payout of $89,000 and has an average payout of around $12,000. Coin sizes are $1.00 to $3.00 with $3.00 making the progressive jackpot active.
I wonder why they have a cap on the jackpot?
And what happens to the progressive contribution once that is reached...

It's only a 3-reeler too - so very hard to confuse with Mega Moolah!

All slots (online and off) have similar names/themes/pictures/payouts... In Vegas it's particularly confusing when you think you're playing one thing and it's something else... They all take your money the same!

It's pretty funny the way they've almost taken the name of one slot and then almost taken the looks/payout of another... which in themselves originally took their ideas and theme from something else offline... which in themselves etc...

Gamblers like familiarity... it's way too much of a financial risk to take a radical departure.

I dont understand what the cap of $89000 is all about. The JP rises when players chime in so what if the JP reaches $89000. Does Rival keep the contributions from the players to themselves or add this to the next pot. Probably they have manipulated it so the JP is hit before it reaches this figure

Bring on the next progressive please. Playtech's Cinerama or Wall Street are what they should consider following as it comes with a small bet ie 25c for the former and 50c for the latter.
