    Powerbet Closing Down?

I just tried to deposit at Lucky Coin, one of Powerbet's sister sites (SureTurn? Is that anything?), and my deposit was denied. I called CS, and they told me that as of today, they were no longer accepting deposits because the casino was closing down. I asked if he meant the whole group, and he said yes! WTF?

These were nice while they lasted. Oh well.

A bigger question is why are/were you gambling at a NON-Casinomeister-accredited casino(s)? Hmmmmm...??

Edit: Then again, I also play at a non-CM-accredited casino, Bodog, but at least it isn't rogued.

They offer +EV bonuses. I've successfully deposited and withdrawn on several occasions and never had any problems.

This is probably related to Warren Cloud's unexpected demise last week, as the organisation (and silent partners??) he leaves behind adjust to the new situation.

Silver Sands Poker is still advertising extensively.

Seems odd since our friend Warren supposedly had nothing to do with the group after quitting, yet the loss of this one man caused the entire business to collapse! It shows just how unstable this business was, as any well run business would factor in the possibility of key personnel becoming unavailable without notice, and would have plans in place to deal with it.

The question now is will this be an orderly closure, with enough funds available to pay players, affiliates, and staff - or was the group struggling badly, and this blow was more than it could take.

This could leave an opening for a new casino group to acquire the assets at a discount, including the player base, and relaunch after some rebranding. If it is clear that new owners and management are in charge, the casinos could try to shake off the earlier rogue image. A move to a recognised licencing juristiction would certainly help, as if they remain in Costa Rica, it may be suspected that this is simply another of their tricks, pretending to change owners and turn over a new leaf, but still being run by the same crowd, with the exception of Warren.
