    Post Online Casino Phone Call

I just got a promotional phone call from an Online Casino. I think it was Palace of Chance, but I erased it. I didn't answer it but my answering machine did. The rep said that they are now allowing credit card purchases. He talked for about 40 to 50 seconds then hung up. Sounded cool!

The call doesn't bother me because I am an online casino affiliate.

Has anyone got this call yet?

But it's a "rogue" casino, so please beware of it!

How did they get your number? You give it to them? Or did they 'acquire' it from an unknown source?

I've had to enter a telephone number for every casino I have signed up to.

That's the best thing you did all day.

Do five minutes worth of googling and checking out this site, and you'll understand that you did yourself a favor.

And why in the hell would anyone want to pay them with a credit card? It's a unlicensed clip-shot joint in Costa Rica

What I don't understand is this comment:

They don't want you as an advertiser, they want to fleece you out of your cash. I'd be pissed off if I were you.

If anyone finds a way to stop these calls - please post! I am about ready to send some NJ friends down to Costa Rica to lean on 'em a little.

Yes, I received calls from most of the Virtual Group yesterday. Each call was the same taped message and occurred about an hour after the previous one. The caller identified himself as the poster VIP_Lounge_Mgr (using his real name, not his Casinomeister handle).

I have an outgoing line which blocks all incoming calls. I use this number for calling sites & registration. I have a personal line for other calls. I keep my mobile numbers separate too. My friend registered through some mobile gaming site and is constantly inundated with text offers. I've never had one in 10 years.

If they are going to phone you, at least they should email you to request it & then there is selling of information lists. Private information is not a license to send unsolicited calls or messages. It should not be passed on.

With the new regulations in South Africa, they will probably lay down a set standard of compliance.

Self policing has been a failure.

    Examples :

The increase in screwing players since the UIGEA came into force. Piss poor Terms & Conditions, a vague bonus abuse system

Kahnawake's handling of AP/UB. Cheap & nasty responce to a multi million dollar fraud.

    Prohibition has been a failure.

    Examples :

US players still gamble, less the standards they once received.

Skanky sites get a foothold because US players are limited to where they can play.

Hopefully South Africa leads the way to International regulation. That doesn't mean US regulated but a laws which cover players within their own country, regardless of where the site is hosted.

The new bill aims to address the negative socio-economic effects associated with gambling and deals specifically with issues of problem gambling, player protection, licensing, taxation and advertising.
