I know this is off topic, but maybe you guys could help.

I figured because most people on here have dealt with transfering money online, I am hoping you guys could help me out.

My friend is trying to send me money. We cannot use paypal nor can we use Western Union. Sending money through the mail is not an option. Does anyone have any ideas, I was thinking of using some of the options casinos have for depositing money.. Anyone have any ideas? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

[Again sorry for this being irrelevant but wasnt sure where else to post this]

    Thanks so much!!!

Why can't you use WU? Is your friend in the US?

How much are we talking about? What about Visa gift cards? They may not be cash, but close to it. How about Amex travelers checks?

For $1000, it's $80 to send via WU...

I'd suggest he check around at the banks find one that sells the Visa/MC gift cards....while most have a $500 limit for each, they only cost ~$5 apiece to load...

I'm not sure about how much Amex travelers checks cost, but they're probably more expensive than the gift cards....still worth checking out though.

Or you can get a Amazon.com gift coupon. It may not be cash, but you can buy a hell of a lot of stuff there from DVDs to gardening equipment.

Er...why? Can't he just send you a check?
Or don't you have something like UK postal orders...?

How about moneygram? Don't know how much it costs but usually cheaper than WU. But without using WU or moneygram, all will take a while unless you can do a bank to bank thing.

    Sorry, not much help.

Can I ask Why can't you use the Sending money through the mail option All you do is put a stamp on a envelope it's that simple.
And if it's the person your sending it to don't want to let the other members of the house see the mail.
Get A PO Box from the post office it's that simple.

If you want to go ewallet for this, consider using moneybookers. They are fast, cheap and reliable, and the receiving end doesn't even need to already have a moneybookers account. MB offers a wide range of deposit and withdraw options, even for US, just as long as its not to a gaming merchant
