Inetbet - Blue Screen Of Death?

I had uninstalled Inetbet after the whole Neteller thing went down because I had no way to deposit. However, after discovering QuickTender as an option, I reinstalled it. Upon reinstallation I got the "Blue Screen Of Death" and my whole computer shut down. I had no reason to believe that Inetbet was the cause, but I have been getting it every time I sign in lately. Then after several deposits with no luck, I decide to download another RTG that had a great ND bonus. Well, upon accepting the RUN function to start the download, I get the BSOD again.

What in the world has happened to my computer? I thought it was a coincidence, but it seems to have something to do with the smartdownload.exe files. Anyone else having this trouble?

Fancy downloaders are the cause of this.

These were supposed to make life easier for users of DIAL UP INTERNET. They ensure the download is "managed" so that you can start from where you left off if you lost your connection. Many dial-up services cut you off after 60 to 120 minutes, and often this would interrupt a download, and using a manager application meant you could reconnect and resume.
With broadband, this is simply not necessary, and is often a hinderance, as these manager applications are not standardised, and may well conflict with other download managers that have self installed themselves on your PC. If you have VISTA, you are in deeper trouble still, as these applications may attempt to download into an "illegal" folder. Playtech downloaders place the casino installation file into the WINDOWS directory, highly "illegal" under later Windows OS versions UNLESS run as administrator.

If you can simply download iNetBet directly, without going through the smartdownload.exe application, you should have no problems.
All these appliactions do is download a straight .exe file from the server, just like in the "old days" where a link to download simply launched the browser download a file function (never had any trouble with that, but had plenty when Microgaming started messing with these "helpers").

I failed to mention that out of the blue, at least 3 times a day, I will get the BSOD while looking around online. What do I need to uninstall to get this to go away? I have tried to uninstall Inetbet but upon attempting, I get the BSOD again!

Maybe that's why I can't seem to win anything there, yes?

That almost sounds like your Video Card causing that...not sure though

That looks like a deeper problem. This could be related to your browser, or Flash and Java applications. Something may have caused something to be corrupt, and this has remained despite attempting to uninstall iNetBet.

The solution would first need a proper diagnosis of the problem. There are many free software applications that offer to scan & remove "malware", and clean Windows settings.
The quality varies, and some are going to be bogus, viruses and trojans themselves.

It is best to look at well known brands, such as AdAware and Spybot search & destroy (beware of false positives on casino applications though). This pair removes adware and spyware. Panda offer the free Panda scan service, a virus scan offered online. PC Pitstop have a suite of tests and scanners, and will offer you the results. You can create an account and keep a history of your PC's performance. They also offer applications for purchase, which build on the free scanners, and manage the process of correcting any faults found, whereas the free scanners simply offer suggestions and fault flags, for the users to fix themselves.
Others have suggested software to clean up the registry files, but the bad ones can do more harm than good, but a good one should find and fix bad entrie that could be causing these errors.
Registry errors are caused by poorly constructed software installers and uninstallers, as well as malware and user "cock-ups". The more you use the PC, the more these errors build up, a bit like living in a house, but never cleaning the floor, or dusting the furniture - you get a gradual build up of "crap", and have to clean it to restore proper "looks".

As a MAN, my intervals between these operations is much greater than is likely for a female woman of the opposite sex, and I expect my REGISTRY gets "dusted" more often than the bookcase

VWM, I downloaded the Spybot program and painfully waited the search process and then cleaned up what it suggested. I then tried to open Inetbet and whatayaknow, I get the BSOD. So I wait for my system to reboot and as soon as it does, I get a 2nd BSOD. I finally got IE to open, hopefully long enough to post this.

Any more suggestions?

Try updating your video card driver...just go to the video card makers website and look for your video card and then update the driver files from there and see if that helps solve your problem...

A BSOD could mean a lot of things and have unlimited causes...

When you get one, it should say what the error is....

If your system automatically reboots after the BSOD and before you can read what it's throwing up on the screen, you can set XP to not reboot after a BSOD:

That way when it happens again you can write down the error and try and figure out what's going on.

sounds like what i was having (still having but less than daily now). but i never played or downloaded rtg's. i only have 32red and as of a couple days ago totesport on my computer since i formatted, although i got bsod's prior to (and as cause for) the format as well. but i also have trouble booting up after i get shut down, so i'm probably worse off even than you. p.s. i'm on xp. good luck with yours!
