I don't understand why
I lost a lot of money tonight at William Hill & Villento....
![]() I have NEVER asked a casino for a free chip, until tonight. I emailed Villento asking if I could have a free chip as I have had the worst luck ever at their casino (Deposited $2000 - Withdrew $68) I never for one second thought they would say no. I thought it was just a question of how much....maybe $10 or $20. They replied saying unfortunately they will not be offering me a free chip. I just don't understand why they would refuse. It's not about the money, it's the principle. The casino will always win, so why not just give the player a free chip to keep them happy and make them feel that their loyalty means something to them. The fact they refused makes me feel embarrassed and cheap for having asked in the first place, there is no way I would continue playing there now. For the sake of $10 or $20 they will now miss out on potentially $1000's more of my money. I once replied to a thread with a concern I had about 32Red. I thought no more of it then a few days later I received a pm from Pat who addressed my concern and credited my account with £100..... I was totally shocked by his generosity concidering I have actrually made money at 32red. I also once received a £15 bonus from Enzo and I had never even made a deposit at 3Dice. I think casinos could learn a lot from managers such a Enzo and Pat who understand that it's VERY important, if not the most important thing, to keep the customer happy. If that means giving a free chip when the player has suffered a bad beat, then so be it. A free chip is not that big a deal really and it will be very much appreciated by the player who will most likely continue to play there. Last edited by Matthew23; 23rd February 2008 at 03:50 AM. I sure do understand where you are coming from and especially your feelings about feeling embarrassed
and cheap. I don't recall ever asking for a freebie until this past week but I changed jobs about two weeks ago and now I'm on a bi-weekly pay period so that means I've had to go an extra week without a paycheck....... so no funds for fun. Even though it embarrassed me, I went out on a limb and asked for one at a rival casino I've been playing at for the last couple of months. They flat out said no. Now I'm not a high roller but I've made deposits in this group of at least $400. 00 in two months time. I've never had a cash out. If they had thrown a ten spot at me, I would have been much appreciative and had been happy......but no. they said they had no bonus for me. I didn't get irate with them, in fact I was nice and cordial but after the chat was done......I felt terrible that I had asked and I wished that I hadn't. The non gesture of good will does nothing for me if they want my loyalty in the future. I can only speak for myself because I know me......I am sure that when my next payday came around that I would not have forgotten the nice little gift and they most likely would have gotten it back several times over. Now I just have this sour taste in my mouth about them and I feel no loyalty to them at all. I want to add one more thought about all this. I realize that they didn't owe me anything and throwing a freebie at me was not required but.......they could have looked at the history, they know I had not asked previously and they could see the deposit history....would should a small gift hurt that much? I've often wondered why casino's don't treat the low rollers such as myself with a little more regard and caring instead of just as a number. It would be interesting to see if my suspicions are correct about who actually pays the bills at these casino's.......is it high rollers or people such as myself who deposit a few hundred every month? |

I dont blame you for being upset. I really felt bad for BB28 Wednesday night when she told me what happened and how she felt, like you, cheap & embarrassed. They shouldnt make you feel that way. Theyve gotta get smarter. Thats why I never ask unless I absolutely have to. From what I hear though, there are alot of customers who abuse the "free chip" There are people who ask more than once a day for free chips and I can understand how they may get leary, but if they took the time to look at the history, they should do it on an individual basis. Who knows, maybe they have a free chip quota that they follow and once they give out a certain amount, they have to say no after that. I dont know, Im rambling out loud to see if I write something that makes sense lol

I have found that some casinos will dole out a $5.00-$10 chip here and there and that is appreciated. But when you deposit say, $3000 in a months time and you don't cash out how is it that they will give you nothing???
I agree with all of you. It's bizzare! I deposited about $2500 in the Gaming Club last fall. I did not cash out. I then was unable to purchase because my bank must have figured out where I was purchasing. Since I was unable to play I called and asked them if they would give me a free chip. $10.00 anything just so I can play. It was also Christmas time and I thought they might bite. Nope. I have been playing there for about 6 years. The funny thing is a few days ago I get an email from them. They haven't seen me in a while and they miss me so they gave me a $500.00 free chip with regular W/R! $500.00! Of course I didn't win but it's so odd to me that they refused to give me $10 but then they give me $500.00! Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it but it's just odd. |

This is Vegas
Just to let you all know I received a PM from John at This is Vegas. He felt bad that The Gaming Club did not give me anything for Christmas. He asked if I had an account with This is Vegas and if so he would like to give me a free chip!
I do have an account with them and he deposited $25 in it! That was a very nice gesture! Thanks John |

Sounds like This is Vegas...Get's it!!
After reading this thread I can now say, TIV will be getting my Rival business from now on. I have heard nothing but great things this past 6 weeks or so. I only hope they have a faster payout than the last Rival Casino I have played at.
Getting back on topic, I too once asked for a free chip and wasn't told no. They just didn't care to respond to my E-Mail. I think that was even worse than being told no, I wasn't even worth the effort to make contact. I was only depositing $30-50 a week, but had played there for 3 years. Well, karma has a way of evening things out. About a month after this, I/everyone received a free $10 Chip to try out thier new slots and cashed out $50. If it were not for that I would no longer be depositing there. Hopefullly my QT withdrawl will hit my account tonight, so I can give TIV a try. DD |
