Anyone know the costs and reqs to get a RTG license?

Been putting some serious thought into opening an online casino ever since that Acropolis thread. I don't have that kind of money to buy them or an established property but I am funded enough for a small casino and I have a business plan to pursue a small, niche market that I think would work. I'm going to contact the softwares myself but thought maybe someone here could give me a little heads up info on what is needed to start a new casino. Microgaming I've heard is out of my price league. Anyone know what Playtech requires? Everything I've heard leads me to believe RTG has the lowest cost entry point. I've heard $50,000 is what is needed. Anyone know if that's true? What else do they want? Again, I will be contacting them via phone but it would be nice to have some of this information before I speark to a salesperson. Thanks!

The only other requirement is that you have to be alive, although exceptions can be made.

Yup! Ever heard of the Virtual Group, or the Palace group, they have invested atleast $200 in RTG according to my calculations.

Your problem with RTG is that they have now acquired a not wholly unjustified reputation for not giving a rats ass about what their licensees do, and they seem to simply ignore the players who have problems (hence Casinomeister has to get involved oft times just to get a response.)

But from your description of your intentions it sounds as if the (reputable) white label route may be a more economical course you could follow, so I would investigate that route with reputable white label providers with a good track record (St Minver springs to mind but I'm sure there are others)

You may have noticed from earlier threads here that the covert and insufficiently policed white label is not a popular concept with many players. However, by being upfront and efficient (and adequately funded for marketing) I believe it is possible to prove by practice that you are reliable and thus become successful in the niche market that your research has convinced you has possibilities.

if your niche is savvy and wise players aching for another decent and reputable rtg to choose from, please do. as it stands, we have less than you can count on one hand to choose from that do things right. i bet you'd do alright especially if you were somehow able to allow US, which is also a niche of which you may speak. if you're on the level, i'm sure there are tons (expecially americans) who would love to see a new top-quality meister-worthy rtg come online!

It is illegal for Australians to operate an online casino. So if you are keen, you should be ready to move abroad..

I think for an RTG license, one of the requirements is that you must've spent a minimum of 10 years behind bars. Other items in your resume' such as perjury, racketeering, and strong-armed robbery will no doubt demonstrate your experience in the field and also help you with your endeavor.

What will you name this casino? The Golden Shower?
