    CanBet Goes Microgaming...But...$500K win limit!

    Hi,

The T&C's for CanBet (Canbet Casino Legal Information) seem a bit odd:

    xxxhttp://www.canbet.com/casino/casino-help-main.aspx
    (remove x's)

"3. Maximum winnings. The amount that any one idividual or group deemed to be acting in concert are eligible to win in any one calender day (GMT) is limited to $500,000 US Dollars. Winnings over this amount will be void."

Does this mean if you win a Jackpot like Mega Moolah they'll only pay out $500,000US?

I don't know of any other MG casino that places a limit on winnings. Hence the reason I posted this.

    Cheers

    Trezz

Interesting. Quite poor for a bookmaker their size...

Bet it doesn't include progressives, and it'd be pretty spectacular if you could somehow win more than that any other way at a MG casino in one day!!!

Remember progressives are paid out from an MG central pool... They're just limiting their own liability for insurance purposes no doubt.

I tried to log into there as I have an account. I kept getting problems with loading the MG as Live help says it has the validation code has intermittent problem.

I eventually got into my account but could not pass the reg form, which I then filled in, it said "YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT" so after playing merry go rounds for a while I gave up and withdrew my deposit.

Canbet is also coming on board this week in the "Accredited Casino" section. They are located here in the MGS section:

They also have a casino rep located here:

Was this $500k rule in place though when it was an RTG? They haven't updated much on their website since the switch...ie. their current weekly promo - a generous 35%, 80-something x bonus on slots only - was there when it was an RTG...none of the usual '25% of wagering on roulette counts towards the bonus' MG stuff.

@Slotster, I guess you are right with regards to the progressive, for the reasons you gave.
However, there are players climbing up to and exceeding the $500k win range on MG, without ever hitting a progressive.
I have heard of one case recently, although this wasn't achieved in one single day, but over several (but few) days.

If they want to limit their liability/exposure they should rather reduce the max bet sizes than limiting the max win through the T&Cs.

I also think that it wouldn't apply to progressive wins, I doubt MG would let them get away with that.

And the $500K rule is probably negligible because it applies to a relatively small 24-hour period.

A max bet of $100 on 4-hand Deuces & Joker with five wilds dealt pat would "only" net you $200K. You'd have to hit that twice and then win more than $100K from something else... all within a day's time. I doubt it would happen often, if ever.

Anyone know why they abandoned the RTG platform?
