Practice vs. Real money

I am fairly new to the online casino bit. My question is whether reputable casinos have a different algorithym/rng for practice play as opposed to playing for real money.
It would make sense for a casino to let you "practice" and win, then change to a more realistic rng when real money is on the line.

So the question is has anyone noticed a difference between practice play and real play?

As with anything like this there will always be those who believe that they act differently, especially in light of the absense of payout percentage reports from the major software providers (Wagerworks excepted).

But on the whole, it is widely accepted that Microgaming, Wagerworks and Cryptologic casinos have the same algo's on both as it would be deemed rogue behaviour not to. Probably find RTG and Playtech are safe too, however because RTG casinos have some flexibility over setting the payout percentages on some games, one can't be sure that they have funplay and real play the same.

I personally believe that all the above have the same algo in place. But not everyone will agree

A reputable software should use the same algorithm, but several use a different RNG. Practice mode may use the RNG on your computer, while real mode uses the RNG on the server. There are less reputable softwares that do admit to programming real and practice mode to different payouts, like Wager21.

This is one of the reasons to stick with the big providers. For instance Wager21 casinos state on their websites that the play-for-fun mode is more fun since you are allowed to win more often
