    RTG Real Series "Combined Jackpots"...

Got an email from Club UK:

"We have combined the Jackpot on six more of our amazing Real Series Video Slots!

The chance of hitting the Jackpot remains the same, and now it is six time bigger!"

So they've combined them all to make a big pot that can be hit across any one of the six? I'm not saying this is a bad thing by any means - just an indication of the level of control and 'influence' RTG operators have over their slots!

Like I say, seems like a cool thing to do so no complaints with Club UK - just can't imagine this ever happening at an MG or elsewhere... Interesting.

Wait a minute, there's something funky about this statement:

The chance of hitting the Jackpot remains the same, and now it is six time bigger!
If the chance of hitting the jackpot remains the same per game, then that means that the jackpot will be hit (on average) six times as frequently - meaning that the average jackpot win will be 1/6th the amount of what it was before.

However, if the "new" chance of hitting the jackpot across all 6 games combined, is the same as the chances of hitting it on any individual game was before, then the jackpot will be (on average) 6 times bigger but your chances of hitting it are now 1/6th what they used to be.

So one of the two statements has to be false, unless choice #1 is the correct one and they seed it at 6,000 instead of 1,000 - but then they'd be giving up an extra 5,000 to every jackpot winner - somehow I doubt they would do that, especially 5,000 GBP.

    Hello all,

Our intention in making this change to the Real Series Slots was to ensure that the Jackpots grow faster!

Now the jackpots on these games are grouped into one, it will grow faster as action from all six games contribute to the prize. The chance of hitting the winning combination on each individual game remains the same, so for the same odds of winning you get a faster growing jackpot.

Currently we have two groups of six games, the jackpot on one is currently well over $29,000 and the other group is almost at $18,000 which is much larger than any of the individual jackpots were at. Also, don’t forget that you now have the choice of six different games when you are going for the jackpot instead of being restricted to just one.

Thank you all for your feedback on this

Yep, the odds for hitting the Jackpot may be the same at any one of the slots but surely if you hit it right after another player hits it at a different slot, then the payouts are considerably reduced although you are the first to hit at your desginated slot.

    Combined

Was actually quite sad what they did. Their was 6 games that all had Random Jackpots of $10,000+ Goldbeard had the highest at the time which was $21,000. Instead of the 6 games with seperate Random Jackpots totaling over $60,000, they merged it in to 1 pot so when someone hits it they all go back down. Before if someone hit Goldbeard which is now almost at $30K their was still 5 other slots games with monster sized jackpots. They saved them selves a ton of money.

Quite like the idea myself. Gives you the option of going for a biggie from time to time.

Depends what they mean by "combined".

If the 6 games "all had jackpots over 10K", how is it that when combined the jackpot is "around 30K". I would hope that the total was the sum of all 6 at the time of combination, and that funds were NOT removed from the pots during the process.
I never heard about the OTHER 6 that had the combined Jackpot, when did THIS happen

There IS some similarity with MG though, as when they introduced 5 reel versions of some 3 reel progressives, the jackpot was effectively shared between them (could be built, or hit, on either). MG progressives also differ in that play at ALL MG casinos build the jackpots, whereas with RTG these are local in the case of the Real Series games, thus local combination is the only way to get a faster building jackpot when net playthrough has been dented by fallout from UIGEA. The downside is that the shareout is less even now, with only two game group jackpots, instead of 12 individual ones, available to be hit. The best time to play is probably now, straight after the combination, and before the first time it is hit, after this, the EV returns to normal. This is based on the statement that the chance of hitting the RJ per $ spent remains the same, but the pool has suddenly jumped around fivefold due to the combination to a level rarely reached before the individual RJ would be hit.
