Thanks for all the replies though. I was seriously interested in how the cards are chosen - I was just wondering whether they are engineered to created action hands. And that wasn't a rigged claim - i'm pretty sure win/lose/tie rate is pretty standard - just wondered whether it enhances an otherwise dull game.
You get 7 cards and have to make the highest value of 5 cards and the second highest value of the 2 other cards. If you click on the houseway button the casino will choose the optimal formation of the cards.
If you win both the highest and second highest you win. If you win 1 it's a tie.

There is also some side bet bonus system. If you make a good hand with your highest hand you can get some sort of a jackpot.

Crypto pai gow has no house way button, so obviously the only way to play is manually choosing your hands

On other casinos (MG, Playtech iirc) there is a house way button so you don't have to make the hands yourself if you're just interested clearing a wagering requirement on a bonus. I prefer doing something more fun though

    Me too!
House way just makes you lazy - I like to think about the split.
I don't know the stats, but I would guess the bonus side bet that some softwares use is a 'sucker bet' as on Caribbean Stud, Let it Ride etc...
Obviously great if you hit a biggie, but otherwise just a terrible drain on your bankroll.

Since you already have a joker in hand and it counts as an ace/wild card for straights and flushes, it would probably have been better to set the cards at a pair ot tens for the low hand and kings for th high hand. Just my opinion.

BTW, if only there was a bonus bet at Playtech.
