    Why do you change casinos?

    Hi chaps

Every time I go to affiliate conferences, I'm always banging on at certain casinos (who shall remain nameless) as to why I think players don't stay loyal, pretty much based on my behaviour as a player. Quite often they don't agree with me.

So I'm thinking ah hang on, wait a minute, maybe I'm wrong and they are right, hence this poll. I'm interested to know if I'm barking up the wrong tree here. And if I'm right, I have something to back me up. Help me out would ya

I know one could also add the option based on seeing/hearing good things about another casino, but I have left this out as that's more of an incentive, less of a reason in that if you are happy where you are, then it's fairly irrelevant to the poll.

    Cheers

    Simmo!

PS. It's multiple choice so you can choose more than one reason.

I played at my favorite casino for years until I was removed from the standard bonus program. This has also happened at other casinos. So maybe you can add this option? (ie. removed from bonus/loyalty program.)

I think that counts as either option 1 or 6 for the purpose of this poll Zoozie. I don't want to get bogged down with too many niche options

Good idea for a poll - and no prizes for guessing my vote!

I can honestly say I very rarely need to contact CS at all, and cashout times are not an issue as I have a 'very healthy' gambling float from past winnings

Lack of good games is a bit of an issue with some softwares but not enough to make me switch.

Needless to say, the casino's I'm loyal to are the ones who actually make an effort to keep me with sensible & worthwhile repeat bonus offers. Forget 15% bonuses or cash-back if you lose , why should I bother with that rubbish when I get 100% matches every month at loads of places?

    Smile, it may never happen...

Thanks. I also think it could also become potentially valuable information for the operators who read the forum too.

The biggest factor that prompts me to stop playing is being removed from a bonus or promotion programme that is supposed to be "for everybody". This makes me feel I am not wanted, as well as making it less of an experience.
This is all too common, a casino seems to have a standard programme of bonuses and events, and suddenly you get cut off. Worse, they don't like to admit this up front, but when you contact support about it they blame "spam filters", "technical issues" etc, but have to be forced virtually at gunpoint to admit you are "red flagged" from the bonus program.

The most common reason I have been removed is due to a lucky streak that has put me ahead. This makes me feel less inclined to continue to play the account in any case (superstition, not logic), so then being removed from the promotional programme on top is the shove needed to get me to find the uninstall button. Superstition seems to rule at the casino too, IF the games are random, and the player has not simply used a mechanical strategy, such as double up & grind, there is no reason to ban a player from the programme just because they hit "a couple of Royal Flushes last week" as seems the case. Provided the promotions are still -EV, the casino can still profit in the long term by enticing such winners to put it back again.

The other reason is where there appears to be no decent promotional programme, and all it takes then is for me to hear of a better place & I give it a try. if I like it, I stick around at the expense of the earlier casino.

Most online casinos are designed and marketed on and around their promotional programmes, and the game payouts are lower to fund these, so being "banned" is a serious disadvantage.

Even good promotions can get boring after a while, and they have to be fantastic to be worth it, such as a "boring", but healthy 100% match.

Casinos need to add variety, and ensure that there is something for the minnow as well as the whale. Wager challenge tournaments are aimed at big depositors, minnows take one look and know before they even deposit that they stand no chance of winning.

Casinos also need to cater for the advantage player, but here they must design their promotions well from the outset, rather than bailing out because "to many" achieved the objective and "won too much" (yes, that means YOU Big Dollar).

    And chapesses.

I didn't read before I voted, so only picked one....which was support is crap. I probably would have also voted for slow cashouts if I'd realized. But there is nothing more important to me than customer support, preferably email. I have a six year old, and can't always telephone or even live chat, so when I send an email, I want a reply within 1-2 hours tops. And, I want that reply to be directly relevant to whatever question I've asked. I do not want a cut and paste job of T&C's or banking options taken from the website. If I don't get these things, I'd be gone in a flash. That's why 32Red has it hands down over so many others. The CS is there, the payouts are quick and hassle free and the monthly promos are great. Same for Inet, as far as I can tell. They don't have a live chat, but I have never waited longer than an hour for an email reply.

Good idea Simmo...and I hope you're right that some casino reps may read this thread and actually take it to heart.

I agree Simmo, but it seems we are at least two now that would have taken this option.

    Great poll idea,
I used to get payed £80 for giving such invaluable information but now I'm just a cheap forum whore
Being an honest chap I voted for all but the last option.
I think that is why they stopped using me, honest but useless information

    Should I? Shouldn't I? Hmmmmm.......

I don't think you're wrong Simmo. By the looks of the poll so far, it seems that most players want decent ongoing promos. They want their loyalty rewarded. It's not a difficult concept, really....lol.
