Exclamation U too can open a casino and get rich! (Playtech problem or not?)

Following the recent announcement about Action Online casino getting blacklisted (http://www.casinomeister.com/rogue/actiononline.php)
and a related post of cristra on page http://www.casinomeister.com/forums/...tml#post163049

Is it that easy to pull such a scam? I mean... if I wanted to rip people off their money, I would set up an "online casino" powered by PlayTech and licensed by the KGC and it looks like I could get away with it...

To the people at KGC and PlayTech:
Ignorance means complicity !
I found it very funny to imagine why not open a Playtech casino and get rich "instantly" instead of trying to beat their games as a player?

Getting serious, I would like to ask how much do you find Playtech responsible for their problematic casino clients?

Perhaps the most complaints here are coming from playtech clients and this no news. A lot have been written in the past and many opinions are written in various threads whether Playtech is responsible or not. But these opinions are spread all over the forum.
A brief summary of complaints is here:
http://www.casinomeister.com/forums/...tech+nightmare

Ok, contracts are contracts, money is money, but what do the players think about the whole situation? A small poll attached might help find out.
Any further suggestions?
Should/could Playtech remove licences from clients who hurt her fame?

P.S. Don't misunderstand me, I love the playtech games and software and thanks God, there are many reliable playtech casinos but what about the rest?

(forgive my basic english language)

Playtech should take more pressure against bad casinos like these. I dont understand how they let casinos like actiononline or african palace, wich are clearly some of the dirty rogues out there, still operate under their brand.

I do agree and can't understans also. Especially in casinos which have proven a bad record for years. There should be a timetable to remove the dangerous licences.

Interesting question...interesting subject in fact. The question should be really "How responsible are software providers for the behaviour of their licencees?". Also, the level of responsibility is open to debate: "responsible" as in who they licence to? Or "responsible" as in what happens when problems occur?

On the one hand, one could argue that someone who provides garden tools shouldn't be responsible for who buys them. And are they responsible if the tools are then used to harm someone? On the other hand, in an industry which is largely just brushed under the carpet by many lawmakers, there is a necessity to protect the public, so who takes on this responsibility when the politicians fail?

Personally I think the s/ware providers do bear a responsibility. However, even if this divides opinion the fact is that those who do - MG, Wagerworks and Cryptologic spring to mind - benefit X-fold in terms of reputation. Not only that, but their licencees do to. I would guess most people here would be happy to play a new MG or a Crypto straight off, whereas with Playtech & RTG you'd want to know a lot more about who was behind them or how they were treating players before you deposited.

Playtech & RTG (and consequently their licencees) have major acceptance problems among the "knowledgable" community because they don't police their licencees properly and have let blatantly unsuitable people licence their software. That's why they will always get threads like Henry VIII's "Playtech Nightmare List" one cropping up to haunt them.

They only have themselves to blame, although I have some sympathy for the good operators who get tarnished as a result. But for Playtech & RTG, it's the old adage, "You make your bed...etc"

Absolutely spot on post Mr.Simmo!
(As usual).
I never think twice about signing up to any MG or Crypto, but think at least 3 or 4 times for RTG or Playtex.

cristra has been spending a lot of time in the forum
Playtech is a publicly traded company on the London Stock Exchange market and that means they had to pass some financial and credibility tests before being allowed to get in. I think that one large enough scandal about a PlayTech powered casino committing fraud could influence the price of the stocks in a matter of days. Doing business with unethical partners tells something about the company also, and they should know better than anyone else that in the long term you will loose even if right now you are gaining income by adopting a loose sales policy. Their behavior is therefore irresponsible and very risky. On the internet the news are traveling very fast and the difference between business success and failure is not as big as one may think.
Maybe because they are quite “young” in this business makes them so irresponsible and careless to player’s problems, but this isn’t acceptable. The respectable PlayTech powered casinos should take action before the incertitude reaches them also.
