MG favorites... how can I change the list?

Alright... So I'm back to the MG slots again after ranting about the new minimum WU deposit rule being too expensive for my taste and closing my account because of it. Even though I can run to the Indian casino down the road.... which I will do on occassion, there's just something about those online slots that gives you more of a rush. What I'm referring to is that online slots definitely offer the low-roller a chance to hit some very big wins in comparison to their land based counterparts. Getting back on topic now! As most know... the slots menu at any MG has a Favorites list comprised of about 13 games that you or I played after downloading the software. What I will sometimes do after a deposit is play a few spins on a slot that has potential for a huge win although it is very unlikely. A very stingy game or two that usually breaks most players but pays huge to a very few players now and then. Even though I don't consider these my favorites, I'm stuck with them in my favorites list because they're one of the first games I played after first signing up at the casino. How can I edit my favorites list??? Take some out and replace them with others?

This question was asked & answered at CM quite recently.
I had a quick search but couldn't find it. I think it's in this section somewhere if you'd like to do some deeper searching.
However, I think the answer was given by VinylWeatherMan, who will probably post it here shortly...

    Lucky guess

MG do not provide a way of editing the list. It is built somehow depending on how much a game is played. If you play a game enough, it will get promoted up the list.
The list itself is a simple descending sort of the registry variable "priority" contained in each game subkey. The higher this value is, the higher the relative position in the favourites list a game will be.
To remove a game from favourites, set the value to zero, to force a game to appear (and keep it there) set it to a high value. The list will still recalculate, but it will take a fair while for a game forced in by setting the value high to be dislodged.
The favourites list itself displays in alphabetical order, although the tabs at the top can be used to reverse this, or sort on other categories as can any of the game lists.

Thanks! Now how do you raise or lower the value of a game? I don't see options that allow me to do anything with the favorites.

Edit: Except the thing in the right upper corner that alows you to reverse the order of the games already listed.

You know Tim, im getting those same urge to come back . It's nearly 4 months for me. And this place makes it no better. The nearest casino to me is 6 1/2 hours away. But at the sametime I don't miss online gambling. I guess I would be just satified to just do it anyways. Just to get bored and make a big bet, lose and get mad and quit again!

Tim, I think that VWM is saying you have to go into your registry (folder containing all the games) and manually change each game you want changed.
Attn: New Members! Make sure to check out the "Casinomeister Accredited Casinos" and the "Spot The Rogue" section of the main site here before jumping into "Online Casinos" with no information or knowledge behind you!

..and if you don't know how to do that:-

Assuming you have Windows, click 'Start', 'Run' type in 'regedit' & 'OK'
Then click on 'Edit' at the top, then 'Find'
Type in part of the casino name & you should find the main folder.
Open this & you'll see a list of all the games.
Open the one you want, look for 'Priority', right-click & change the value.

Disclaimer: I have never done this myself & will not be held liable if it goes wrong!
If it does screw up, un-install & re-download the casino - then favorites should be empty.

I've edited the registry loads of times, no problem.

but be careful, if you don't know what you are doing and delete something vital, then it really is game over - ull have to reinstall windows.
Its fine - but just be cautious!

I have my Windows 98 PC run scanreg on boot, which always makes a registry backup each time a new day (from last session) is found. In the event of disaster, it is easy to restore using "comand_prompt>scanreg /restore

XP has the restore point, and if in doubt set one before fiddling with the casino keys.
If you restrict fiddling to the keys for Microgaming, the worst outcome is a screwy casino installation.

Vista? Dunno, still haven't got my upgrade from DELL, but it looks like something for the filing cabinet till everybody else has debugged it for me

The favourites list does not necessarily clear through uninstalling and reinstalling, as some installers leave the game keys in place, although other variants leave only the main casino key, which is why MG casinos can recall your account number even when they have been uninstalled for some time. A feature that also prevents the registration of a duplicate account through the Viper interface.
