    Question Size of casino software

    Hi All,

With the ongoing brouhaha about the size of windows vista i was thinking about the same with respect to casino softwares in the market. What are the typical size of the sofware sizes and how have they increased over time? More importantly is this an important concern.

Would love to hear some thoughts.

Microgaming takes the crown for size. Many MG casinos have topped the one Gigabyte mark, this is an increase over the last two years of nearly a factor of TEN!! When I started playing at the end of 2004, Viper came out to replace Thumper, and MG casinos were around the 100 Megabyte mark.

Other softwares are smaller because they only download the games on demand the first time a player tries to play them. MG casinos will download everything, whether you play it or not.

Vow -- Microgaming seems to be way above. I just checked on my PC and realized that MS Office takes up about 635 MB and Vista is supposed to be 4 Gig. Strange that the spectrum is pretty wide -- from about 30MB to 1 GIG and we are all talking about the same product. But i guess size is not a issue as there quite a few installations of MG out there.

    Thanks

What are you talking about fella?
We are NOT talking about the same products - but distinctly different casino softwares.
And with MG size most definitely IS an issue as it not only uses up vast chunks of our hard-drive with crap we don't want, while doing this it totally screws up our playing experience at the casinos.
In other words - it sucks!

Ok - what i meant was all the products are in the same business of online casinos and i am sure the size of the software has an impact on the user experience. But they seem to vary in size a lot.
