Royal vegas online casino not accepting Visa?

Royal Vegas online casino does NOT accept VISA deposits!!! It rejects each time i tried it. After speaking with live help they told me visa and mastercard are limiting online gambling? I find this highly suspicious since every other casino im a member of ive not had a problem with. They kept insisting i use netteller. Strange.

That is strange.
I know some banks (credit card providers) blocked ALL gambling transactions, but if you've used the same card before...?

You can not withdraw to any Mastercard at most places - except at William Hills somehow..?
But usually if you can deposit by Visa you can withdraw the same way.

I would thoroughly recommend opening a Neteller account though - after the initial ball-ache of verifying your account etc. it's far easier & much less hassle!

Cheers KK, it is strange, its the same card i use for depositing at every casino, for years. Never had this problem before lol well not really problem but makes me wonder about the casino if they dont allow visa deposits, i would imagine visa is still most peoples prefered choice of depositing.

I can use my M/C at most, however Spin Palace, Ruby and a few other always decline??? I am sure it is the processor.

Last year, UK card companies started to reissue their terms of service. What crept in at many is a different way of treating gambling transactions. Most now treat them as a cash advance, and not a purchase. Although most do not levy the usual cash fee of 2 to 3%, as cash advances, they are limited to a set percentage of the overall card limit. This varies with provider, but will result in gambling deposits being rejected even though the card is well below its credit limit. Most Mastercards did not work, including all the Mastercard brands I used.
Today I received yet another of these missives, from Capital One this time, telling me about changes, plus the change in treatment of Gambling transactions to cash advances, which is strange as this card has always rejected gambling transactions.
The ONLY UK card that still treats gambling transactions as purchases is Barclaycard, however they charge by far the highest rates of interest on these "purchases".
Despite the hassle, an eWallet such as Neteller is the way forward, as I fuly expect further tightening on the credit card front. I have also seen one decide to go as far as charge the 3% advance fee for gambling transactions.
DEBIT cards should still work, and some casinos, including Royal Vegas and Palace Group can credit withdrawals back to these cards.

Credit card companies are increasingly concerned about bad debt, and know that gambling is one way people can run up large debts very quickly. They don't want to stop it altogether though, given that they still make a healthy profit where gamblers can cover the debt, and the government is all in favour of us gambling online - probably the only thing the Yanks are jealous of us Brits about (Everything else, of course, being bigger and/or better "over there")

I did not try these. Most of these other brands are run by the big banks anyway, and would treat gambling in the same way as the own brand card.
Nationwide may be the better bet, as they have a reputation of not attempting to trick the customer with the usual sneaky terms.
I have a Smile ISA account (dormant), but thought little of the credit card offer, and at the time both Barclaycard and Shell Visa worked fine, even giving their loyalty points on gambling transactions.
Until recently, First Direct also had a VISA card that worked great for casinos. The big problem with the changes is that interest at the cash rate is charged from the moment of the deposit, and is not interest free if paid off in full at the end of the month as was the case for purchases. Even without the fee, it can cost around 2% of the deposits to use most credit cards now.
There seems little point in looking for cards that currently treat gambling as a purchase, as I expect these will fall in line throughout the summer.
It's a shame, since credit cards were great backup when I got an unexpected and good bonus or tournament offer, but had withdrawals stuck in "pending" that would not be out in time to take up the offers.
Even where a better card is to be had, it is far harder to be accepted now the banks are lending "more responsibly" than before.

My cards HSBC and I have to say their very good. never been charged for anything on line related, and never came accross a casnio before i coudlnt deposit with using visa either :S Silly move Royal Vegas casino silly move!
