The reason the RTG website has disappeared is because RTG is in the middle of a pretty big transition.

The company was recently sold and operations are moving to Costa Rica (they were formerly based in Atlanta).

This is of course fall out from UIGEA.

are RTG operators able to adjust payout for individual slots or only for the whole package?

Now that's really interesting - and I note from your profile that you probably speak from experience and with knowledge.

Are you involved in the move?

Who bought RTG and why hasn't it been announced? Any online gambling industry characters involved in the deal that we might know?

    When did this happen?

What's happening to Michael Staw, Mike McMain, Brian English, Steve Brierley etc etc?

    Have there been many lay-offs?

Are all operations moving to Costa Rica?

They are all take and no give, have noticed this for a month. several deposits today and they went fast. Too fast for it to be fair.

I am quitting RTG slots for good. Would rather give it to charity.

Jetset, The Eye which sees everything
After reading Zaqwert old posts, I'm asking myself something.
Could we assume that RTG slots are really random, but that operators could ajust the payout ratio not having influence on the odds of the game (we've assumed it's random) but on the payout table ?
For example a combination of symbols would pay 8 when the slot have a 92% PR instead of 10 when the slot have a 96% PR.
I'm asking that because I know that in land based French casinos, that's how operators adjust the payout on US manufactured slots and video pokers (Bally for example), on the demand of the French government.
In France it's the government which determines the payout ratio, it have to be between 85% and 95%.
This wouldn't be evil, would it ?

Exacltly. I have been asking myself that question many times for RTG slot. Only way would be to also change the reel or as you suggest, they are not 'random' at all. Ie. the reels are not used to determine win as they should be, but just showing a win generated by other methods. For MG I have confirmed the reels are used and I hope and also believe it is the same for most other softwares.

I'm no longer with RTG (because of the move) but I can ensure everyone that that software was/is completely fair.

the operators have no control over its other than the customizable options presented to them (all of which have been tested).

The slots are spin tested hundreds of millions of times to ensure payout %'s.

The options for the RTG slots really do not vary all that much (aka they can't set absured payout %'s of like 80%) so your best bet is probably picking the one that has the highest random jackpot and playing it.

Your odds of winning it are the same, but at least if you get lucky you'll get a bigger pay day.
