I'm sure I'm not the first to think that maybe the Frist deal was secretly backed by US b&m so they could offer legislation to regulate (and control) online gaming. But here is where it might not work for them if true, an anecdote.

I go to vegas and Reno as often as I can, a few times a year. What keeps that thirst or hunger alive? Online gaming. Period. Not the long forgotten memory of a good time, not the 'what happens' commercials... no, for me, it is the thrill of the game.

I guess they'll get a whole new crop of marks if that is the way it goes.

Damn shame, that's all I can say. I had my fun I guess, I just don't want to come in and do my chores now, okay daddy?

It was not secretly backed, Harrah's (HET) has contributed enormous amounts of money to back this bill and yes that is their thought to get into online gaming according to my source's over at Harrah's.

I had mentioned this in another post from earlier in the year but no one believed me.

Thanks for the info. :eek2:

I don't usually come on board to a forum and post like crazy, but I'm just a little freaked right now. I didn't realize how much I enjoyed online gaming until it was denied to me. I joined up here to try to get some help with a casino who seemed like they wouldn't pay, and still might not. And, as a coincidence, after going through the 'document thing' with them; I tried to play at a couple of my trusted and true friends and got a bunch of 'denied' from neteller. i thought I was screwed, now it seems as if we are all screwed (yanks). I hope not. With C2P it may be a java error, with payspark I may just be daft and dumb not being able to find a page for new accounts. But I digress. It's a gamble, the whole thing. I have had my fun and will figure other ways to do it if I have to.

Ii just don't like it.

F2F poker to get me through the winter, I guess :)

Cheers!

Hi Lojo. Try sending an email to [email protected] and asking them how you apply for a new account. I'm not sure how they process applications now. I've had my account since it was Gaming Card, and back then you had to have a casino send you an invitation to join.

Second option is to load one of the casinos on your computer that you play at regularly, and go to banking. When you see the Payspark option, see what happens when you click on that. I think you may be given the option of opening an account that way, but I'm not sure. And just in case you didn't know, Payspark works with Microgaming casinos only.

Yeah Frist's campaign funding accounts are publically available and make erm "interesting" reading

Gotta tell ya, i spewed, but listened to the whole cinder song :) honestly. But that has more to do with warm lager than their talent. Thanks for the link and the sentiment. You are a kind man.

Put it on a loop, you will puke too.

Funny thing that night- no cops on bikes, no tourists, just me, my Baby and two muggers. A few blocks down it got uglier, but the camera wasn't out. Damn glad. Skeered the crap out of me.
We holed up in the Nugget and whiled the hour away till we could get a cab back to the strip. A little more fun than i had bargained on.
Gimme back my damn Casinos!!!

you don't know what you got till its gone :)

Here's a VERY well put together video regarding the Internets.

Old / Expired Link

And lest we forget "The Google"

^^^ Rather interesting.....someone has way too much time on their hands. They pieced together video of Bush to make it look/sound like he's singing "Sunday, bloody Sunday"

I agree with you RobWin, it is also my personal belief that Harrahs played a major role in funding.
Everyone mostly blamed the Republican religious right wing.
But, Indian gaming, and the NFL also seemed to be funding the support of the UIGEA inclusion into the Safe Ports Act.
These four all gained from the passage of the UIGEA.

But, the biggest culprit of all, is "we" for not fighting this when we could actually do something about it, except bitch.

"We" as in the players, ewallets, casinoes, poker rooms, sportbooks, affiliates, advertising agencies, tv networks, magazines, etc.

What "we" are going to find out is that it is much easier to give up our rights, than to get them back.

Absoluetly beautiful bigwinner. Sublime.

just the other day got... an Internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday, I got it yesterday. Why? Because it got tangled up with all these things going on the Internet commercially.
Tubes, by golly, a mangled tess of tubes! Big ones!!!!

Priceless

I can't deposit at all right now. I have no cash advance on my credit card (all used up), I closed click2pay in August and they said then that they'd never reopen it. Plus I overcharged my netspend VISA by 382 and must pay that back before it is unblocked. I was so looking foward to using Instadebit today since I got paid and have a little extra money to spend. It was really my last resort. It may be a long long time before I get to play again.

And new games are coming out in February!!

*sigh*:o

I think the ban on internet gaming was specifically designed for you. You should be glad that Instadebit does not work anymore. You don't have any "extra money", you have bills and debt to pay with what you have.

Couldn't have said it better myself. If you have any cards maxed out, you don't have extra money.

www.daveramsey.com <- Check it out

We must have the freedom to gamble and get into debt doing it. Our freedoms don't mean we all make the right choices. The fact the choices are there is the point.

You're right, but I'm the type that can't sit by the wayside and say nothing. :p

If they want to continue on getting deeper in debt, yes, that's their choice. I threw a suggestion out there, and if they want to check it out, that's great. If not, no biggie. :)

I seriously doubt that the internet ban was designed for "people like me". If it were there would be no legal gambling at all. I don't understand how you've calculated how much extra money I have but thanks for sharing.

It's no body's business but your own. Stand on a street corner - rub glass in your hair, jump on a barge and get your dose. This is the land of the free, remember? Home of the brave. Give me three cockle shells that are absolutely useless to anyone, anywhere, any time - and I'll fund your account on my new software that only shows a 'win' button when i feel like putting it up there. (you might have to reload often :)

Sorry, unconvertable currencies are all we accept. Play at lojo's where we rip the other guy off and pass the savings on to you

Honestly, we just have to hang loose for awhile. In the meantime, we can pitch pennies at the wall (for heads, tails and closest) play poker with our buddies (don't have any? good way to get some) and throw our Lotts, Frist's and Delays into the can. Street corner craps are not regulated, at least by <i> those<\i> guys, and the rules are cooler anyway.

Good luck, and the party's at my house Thursday.

I logged on at Grand Monaco to check my Loyalty Points (not enough) and this was their Message of the Day:

To All Valued US Players
NETeller, Instadebit, Citadel and eCheck passed away peacefully on January 18th 2007. Age unknown. The beloved payment methods of Grand Monaco will be sorely missed. Recommend opening Click2Pay and Payspark accounts.

Mousy, have you had good experiences with this casino? i was thinking about using wire transfer to them. Any suggestions? thx

T_B :

I think the only folks that are making succesfull deposits right now, are the casinoes that are not offering withdrawal options to those of US, in the land of the free.

Many of the discussions about internet gambling prior to the passing of this bill, were about young people (in particular) getting in over their heads with debt. Am I glad that they banned internet gaming? No. I have always been against the government, any government for that matter, trying to save us from ourselves. If you make a financial mistake then you should be able to learn from it and make better decisons down the road because of it. My post came from you saying that your card was maxed out and that you wanted to take money from your just deposited paycheck to gamble when clearly that would have been a mistake. I don't know you but I am making a judgement from what you put out there. Of course it is your decision what you do with your money, but you have only got to got back a month or so and read many posts from people giving up this form of entertainment because they could not control themselves or their finances. Gambling whether online or in a B&M casino or a dorm room poker game should be done with clear thinking about what happens if....

Alright, I'm hitting withdrawal now. Click2Pay cap of $100 per week just isn't working for me and I have yet to receive a response to see if I send them my documents that they may lift the cap.

It isn't the same playing in the fun mode.

Fox News / I gaming story

Didn't really know which thread / forum to post this in, and did not want to create another new thread. So I put it here.

If you want to watch it, its here :

Topics in no particular order

-Banks, the now pending investigations into the Wall Street firms that were involved in bringing the I gaming companies public.
-the UIGEA impact.
-possibilities of money laundering and I gaming funding terrorism.
-online gambling sites possibly having mafia ties.
-taxation and regulation.
-Neteller executives being arrested.

This ran on Fox News today. Some might be interested to see it. For a Fox News organization story it seemed fairly balanced. [FWIW, Fox News in the USA, is hugely biased toward the American Republican Party].

CHEERS!

That's a great insight into the 'mainstream' REO. Unfexingbelievable! Don't know how I missed clicking this before. In all of their mealymouthed ways this interview showed as much of what is probably happening as the finest Industry and legal posts I've read. Wow.

I wish I wasn't so paranoid about some of this stuff, I'd post an opinion or two, but alas... we're f*cked i fear.

Let 'er ride!!!

I'm taking my lost play and hitting the b&m with it, what else can ya do? I caught the fever in Vegas on a budget; plane fare-rooms, dining and daily 'spend'. So I was lucky I guess. I can always go back to the casinos and not feel toooooo deprived.

If those sh*ts have a hardon for online gambling, for whatever reason, they do.
WTF?

I'm just sorry I didn't find this forum earlier, I might have become an advocate. Now I'm just another thrill seeker pointing himself at the options I have to play.

Seven cum 11 in the alley tonight. reno, Vegas, and if I do well in Atlantic City... (btw can anyone say combover in this sh*t!)
If I skip the boardwalk and get to macau, I'll drop a franky on 17 and 35 for everyone I met here.

thx for letting me ramble and rant. I dig this forum

Yup, don't wanna bash the gov. too much. Not with this administration in charge, anyway. one way ticket to Guantanamo.:eek2:

Ramble and rant all you want. Doesn't bother me a bit.

Just got the tix confirmation for Reno... a couple of nights away from downtown. Dirt cheap air and fine rooms this time of year

The thrill of the hunt (don't care how many times I've flown, that plane taking off just gets me going)

For some time now I've used my online winnings to finance my trips. Now I have to win on land to play on land again or save my hard earned dough for spring and fall :what: No more 'playing it through' to entertain my girl or make the Host happy.

Oh well, here's hoping. Domino, snowball, streak, roll :D

Nicely Said! In our state it is illegal to "gather" and play any gambling games. If the state cant regulate it, you cant play it! Bah Humbug!

The party was at my house last night!

Yeah, the hypocrisy reeks like a steaming load, dunt it?

"The gambling known as business looks with austere disfavor upon the business known as gambling. " Ambrose Bierce

We'll play if we want to, no doubt. We might end up needing to have a 'sponsor' blindfold us in the back of a car, drive around the block a few times and drop us in the den, but we will play if we want to, 'cuz by gawd, that's what we do :D And someday, maybe, they will stop trying to legislate morality and regulate everything we do.

shhhh the party's at my house Thursday, err the prayer meeting, yeah that's it, its a prayer meeting... 'c'mon c'mon...show me little joe, SWEET JESUS!!!
