I've been getting an error message everytime I try to log in to Neteller this morning. Anyone else having a problem?

Received an error about 30 minutes a go but it seems to be working just fine now.

I still cannot log on. I emailed support this morning and have not received a reply.

If you sign in from their main web page it will work. If you try to sign in from a "favorite" listing it will not.
Found this out from 2+2. Should work.:)

Maintenance

This was deliberate "Scheduled Maintenance". There is a near 80% chance of this happening on Monday. It cannot be predicted as Neteller do not tell their users in advance, and will occasionally switch the days to confuse me once I get used to it being Monday. (It was Wednesday, but they decided to switch to Monday a few months ago).
A small number of casinos seem privvy to this information in advance, and publish it on their message of the day.
To determine if this is the problem type the URL for Neteller in directly, and the home page will either have the usual register and sign in or a maintenace outage message.

Unless they just changed something, this is untrue. I just tested it by going in from my bookmarks and it worked just fine.

I think a more important issue is that of timeouts. Yet again I have had the misleading error message at a Microgaming casino to "try again later", but finding the funds have left my Neteller account.
While timeouts will happen, it should at least fail safe, and it is about time the error message was changed as it is highly misleading to suggest that the player simply "try again" without first checking with Neteller that the funds have not gone into limbo.

I have suggested this time that the merchant server for the casino send back a receipt to Neteller to confirm the funds have arrived in the casino account, and only on receipt of this would the funds be removed from the Neteller account. Currently, Neteller sends an "NT" code, and the success of sending this seems enough to have the funds removed from the account. It seems the timeout happened after this, leading to the code arriving, but not the funds, so the transfer to the casino did not happen.
While it can be sorted by quoting the offending NT code to the casino, this can be a pain, as first it is necessary to phone Neteller, and then phone the casino. Depending on standards, this could involve being "on hold" in two queues. I would far rather just try again later without the hassle.

I do not know in which waste paper basket this suggestion will be filed, and whether the filing will be by Neteller or Microgaming.

This problem is driving me nuts. I want to play when I want to play. I don't want to deposit and then have to jump through hoops emailing back and forth between the casino and NETeller just to get my measley $25/$50 credited to my casino account. It's been a long time since I encountered the timeouts, but during the last week or so it's a regular occurrence.

2 out of my last 3 deposits have gone into limbo. The casino software says there was a problem contacting NETeller try again later. Meanwhile, NETeller sends me one of their autoemails saying the transfer was 'complete'. So here I sit waiting to hear from NETeller for my NT# which I will have to email to casino CS, and then it'll be this afternoon (if I'm lucky) before it gets credited to my casino account. grrrrrrr....

This just happened to me this morning for the first time. I deposited without a problem last night. Now I have emailed the casino with screenshots and since they are notoriously slow for email support and since it's the weekend, I don't expect to see my money in there until Monday.

Remember the thread a while back that addressed Microgaming's double-up feature and that if you put your mouse over the balance it shows your new balance after the result of the double-up, before you even select a card?

And then someone said that this was a "slippery slope" as far as what choices will be predetermined by the server, even when it may appear that the player can affect the outcome?

Perhaps this is the bottom of that slippery slope.

Their server has randomly selected YOU as someone who will lose your deposit. They just saved you a lot of time and trouble (such as playing games, getting excited, etc.) by simply not crediting your account in the first place. Thank you for playing.

I have a sinking feeling that the reason for the timeouts is because Neteller is working on blocking US residents.

I guess it will be back to the old Debit Card for me. I noticed that MasterCard has now started charging an 0.8% "International Transaction Fee" which they never used to charge. I never even received a notification about this new charge. But if the deposit actually goes through, then it's certainly worth it.

I didn't say it, but I have a similar feeling. I also think that, for the time being, they are shifting their server and CS resources away from U.S. customers and we get the timeouts and delays.

US Blocking

This Neteller timeout problem has been around for ages. I don't think it has anything to do with blocking US players.
I believe the problem lies with the casino e-cash processors. I phoned Neteller for my NT number, and asked them if their system showed anything. They said there system gave no indication of a timeout on the transaction. The casino said that they had the NT number authorising the deposit (and thus could credit it manually once I confirmed it), but the funds themselves had not transferred. The casino rep is able to log on to the web and manually "pull" the funds associated with the NT number and complete the process.
My main gripe, other than the misleading error message for newbies, is that it is up to ME to chase up Neteller for the NT code, then contact the casino for the credit. If CS is poor, or no phone option is available, this process can take ages.
All was well in my case, I lost the urge to play that evening so went over to Golden Reef later that night and deposited 300 by credit card, this turned out to be the best move I have made in ages!!!! (See winner screenshots & 5 scatters/wilds threads).
I then went back to the original casino, and lost my deposit on slots exhibiting the more usual behaviour:mad:

Since I have never encountered this problem in the 9 or 10 months that I have been using Neteller, I qualify as a newbie? Sweet! :D

AMEN! What a royal pain! - After first trying live chat but not getting anyone I sent an email. 8 hours later (with no response) I decided to try Live Chat again:

Old Attachment (Invalid)

Here's a BOLD-ASS thought - why doesn't Neteller just add a column in the transaction history for the freaking NT confirmation number?? If something was declined etc then just leave it blank for that transaction.
