States where gambling is legislated illegal: Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wisonsin

IMPORTANT NOTE
It appears that Microgaming have suggested their licencees no longer accept players from US states where gambling is illegal. These are: States of Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Washington, Indiana, Nevada, Oregon, Louisiana and South Dakota. New York & New jersey also appear to be on the MG list for some reason.

Simmo, you can edit your list to encompass all states re: Palace Group/Fairground Holdings. Tim posted over at CAP this morning. It will be effective immediately upon the bill being signed. This one hurts, ouch. Until the list is updated, this includes: Spin Palace, Ruby Fortune, Mummy's Gold, Jackpots in A Flash and Pigg's (I think?).

Yes just seen that - thanks Pina. Thats a real shame.

I thought Jackpots in a flash was only for certain states. I just deposited there a couple days ago. Also only have about 30 points to go to redeem my rewards

It was. Then today they announced that their parent company Fairground Gaming, which unsurprisingly is a public listed company, has told them to pull out of the USA altogether. This affects JAIF, Piggs, Spin Palace, Ruby Fortune & Mummy's Gold.

I just deposited $50 into Ruby Fortune Casino using Neteller. No problem. Am I missing something here?

I'm guessing the minute Bush signs, accounts will be locked. They wouldn't lock the accounts before announcing to players as they would need to give them a chance to withdraw any monies I guess. So I'd expect a player announcement in your email very soon.

Incidentally, it appears we have a company taking a sensible approach in Leisure & Gaming (English Harbour, VIP, Nine.com and several others etc). recognising that PLC's need to ease the fears of their largely ignorant shareholders, rather than drop US players, they are taking a different view. This is lifted from a post by an affiliate representative of one of the programs:

The main priority is to secure the US faced businesses.
The statement issued by Leisure and Gaming early this morning really implies that the US business will soon be removed from the PLC and operating independently of one another.

This will allow for VIP Profits, Casino Coins, 9am and all thier merchants to operate as usual and thus outside of Leisure And Gaming.

If that comes off, very sensible and rational move IMO. Shame more companies didn't/can't take this approach.

Cowards.

And now my favorite casinos won't have me. You'd think the U.S.A. owns the whole damn world.

I'm really getting pissed off now.

Ahhh, welcome to the club Mousey. I'd suggest any US player with a balance in any Palace Group casino withdraw it right away. The affiliate company has decided to pay September's outstanding payments over the next SIX MONTHS, to guard against chargebacks. I understand they're trying to protect themselves against future losses, but I'm sure glad I don't have a large cashout pending with them....you might get it by Spring. I could be wrong, but if they're going to delay affiliate payments by six months on money already earned...I have no idea how they're going to handle any cashouts. Especially if your deposits were made via Firepay, ECheck or Credit Card.

USA Casino

I guess they will have to change their name now.

The US doesn't rule the world.... YET! These casinos may ban US players but many good ones will still accept us. It is the money changers we really have to worry about :eek2:

The Grand Prive group recently added an announcement while logged in to the casino saying that the bill only impacts 9 states, and persons in those 9 states will be unable to play at GP casinos. They write that they will continue to offer the usual gaming to players in the "unaffected states."

MegaSport (Playtech)

Got this email today:

Dear xxxxx,

The United Stated House and Senate passed bills on September 30, 2006 banning payments to online gambling sites using credit card and bank accounts. President Bush is expected to sign the measure aimed at ending all online gambling from U.S. players in about two weeks. Due to the imminent passing of the »Federal Unlawful Gambling Enforcement Act« we would like to inform you MegaSport Casino will no longer accept wagers from residents in the United States.

All real money accounts will be suspended. Please take into consideration this will not affect your balance in your casino account, as in order to make any cashouts your casino account will remain unblocked until such cashout is made.
The accounts of all non-US customers of MegaSport Casino will not be affected.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Customer Service by sending an email to support@megasportcasino.com.

Kind regards,

Anthony

Of all the Playtech casinos where I've played over the years, this one always paid me within 3 days, and never tried to welch on a withdrawal. Absolutely no problems with them -- ever. What a shame....

P.S. .... Has anyone seen a statement by/from Global Player? I'd almost forgotten about them ....

Got an email from Casino Del Rio and Casino Tropez that they have closed all US accounts today. Haven't played there in years....but good to know.

vegaspartner group closed for us..

Hi Guys,

VPL still supports US players, unless they are registered out of the 9 states mentioned above.

We apologise for the inconvenience, but this was after looking at every way of avoiding it. We aren't exactly pleased either.

Regards
Schalk

The first post has been updated including the VPL states no longer accepted.

Schalk: Why is New York & New Jersey on the list? The bans aren't in force there unless I missed something??

Guys, This is not in effect yet, and the account that was locked and the mail that was sent was in error from our call center.

We are trying to avoid blocking anyone, but we will have to see what happens in the near future. At this stage anyone is still welcome in any VPL casino.

I just got an email from Palace Group saying they are closing my account within 24 hours and good luck in my farewell gaming sessions.

I thought they were originally only blocking some states. I'm not sure if Florida was added or if they are just closing all US accounts now.

Anyways I am pretty much done playing online casinos as there are only one or two groups now that I want to play at and that will allow it.

Their parent company Fairground Gaming PLC are pulling all of the palace Group properties out of the USA. See previous post (I think!) :)

Fortune Lounge lock out

Here's part of an email I just received from Fortune Lounge:

It is with deep regret that I inform you that Fortune Lounge will stop accepting bets from our customers in MICHIGAN, as of midday, Eastern Standard time, on October 13th.

I wish someone would explain to me why casinos are intrepreting this new national law passed by congress to apply to only to certain states.

From what I understand, this interpretation relies on the wording in the new law which prohibits transactions funding "illegal" internet gambling. Because only certain states have expressly made online gambling illegal and not the Federal Government (which has still not amended the 1961 Wire Act), some casinos have limited their player bans to those states.

Belle Rock

I'm in Wisconsin and Belle Rock just e-mailed me..closing my accounts as of tomorrow....along with the Palace Group and a few others. Maybe it will only be for the states that consider it illegal.

Probably the same letter that Soflat received... Got this from Mummy's Gold, Piggs, and Jackpots in a Flash (all now part of Palace Group). This is U.S. wide, not merely certain states. What a crock...

Dear xxxxx,

I regret to inform you that, due to legal uncertainty within the USA
regarding online gaming, we have no alternative but to suspend
accepting deposits into your casino account, xxxxxxxxx, with
immediate effect.

In addition, your casino account will be locked within the next 24 hrs
- no later than 9am ET. (1pm GMT.) on Friday, October 13th.

Until then, your account will remain open and we wish you the best of
luck in your farewell gaming sessions.

Having provided many years of fair, honest and enjoyable gaming, it is
with deep regret that we are forced to take this course of action.

Rest assured, should the legal uncertainty change in any way, we will
reassess the situation with a view to providing you with a premier
online gaming experience once again.

Note: should you have a remaining balance in your cash account once it
has been locked, please contact our Support Team using the email
address below, to arrange for funds to be paid via a method of your
choice.

Email: mailto:payments@thepalacegroup.com

As Casino Manager, and on behalf of all at Jackpots in a Flash, I
