I'm not a computer boff. I have seen adware & spyware on my computer when I do a clean up, but I've never worried about it. I just zap it & carry on regardless! I'm pretty sure 99% of it is harmless anyway.

Hmm... i have quite a bit of firewall, antivirus, and adaware software on my computer and have never really ran into any problems with RTG software.
Norton doesnt recomend permitting the connection, but other than that no problems. Perhaps give us some more details on the problems youve been having, and maybe the casinos too(not sure if it would matter but it couldnt hurt) |

RTG and Spyware
I have had this problem with the Adaware program. They have probably done this as most users see casinos as undesirable. I remember occasions where adware added casino links to my desktop, and others that start downloading and installing that casino when you are just having a look!!!
With Microgaming, an ActiveX control called "Download Helper" is often added. Adaware will warn of this and suggest removing it. I would expect that the name used "Riviera Gold" or "Golden Tiger", relates to the casino that tried it on first. All others using the same software are identified by the same name. I have just installed some RTG through Norton Firewall, and have not seen any problems. With Microgaming updates, it will warn of an attempted connection from "Casinogame.exe". This is the core executable common to all MG casinos. Also, casinogame.new is loaded by casinogame.exe during an upgrade (this is the "double launch"), when casinogame.exe hands over to casinogame.new to perform the update having downloaded it. Firewalls will see this as a new threat, and will prompt for action. If set to disallow by default, or in Spyware programs "remove by default", there will be no notification, just a "dead" casino. "No Uninstall Path". Windows Installer cock-up - the registry contains a path to "uninstall.exe", which is normally in the same folder as the casino executables. If the path is wrong, the windows function will fail. Uninstallation can be done by going to /program files/orriblecasino/.. and finding an uninstaller and clicking on it. If the casino is not wanted again, a registry cleanup utility can remove most of the traces and an installation tracker (which snapshots all registry changes during an installation) should rid you of everything. RTG casinos prefer to install in the root directory, an annoying habit and not a good idea, as it can slow Windows down a bit. I try to place all casinos in one place, so I know where their files are. I do not like those "webinstaller" utilities that some casinos use nowdays. Especially those that are "for our own convenience" to speed up the process, and I find it takes 10x longer! (I am taking about YOU, Fortune Lounge and BelleRock) I prefer a direct download of the EXE to a place of my own choosing. I find these webinstallers place files in "odd places" and don't clean up afterwards As a last resort, Uninstallation by brute force, delete the program folder for the casino, and delete all shortcuts. Then use a registry sweeper to look for broken paths to the casino files and clean them up - this will only leave the deepest traces behind, usually a bunch of CLSID's, a swine to find and remove, beloved of Cryptos.

Thanks to all that responded to my question about the RTG software. I have SPYSWEEPER, and whenever i log in to an RTG casino it starts a sweep immediately. I hope it is harmless, but just the same it's a pain. I will check up on the INetBet link and read what they say,as they were one in the past that i had this problem with too. Support at one of the casinos suggested that I deactivate the Spyware, but I'm certainly NOT willing to do that. Thanks again everyone...And good luck to all.
