Cherry Casino, misleading banner?

I just noticed for the first time what the Cherry Casino banner here on CM is saying: "No-one pays their players faster"

Isn't this misleading, or indeed completely untrue? The Casino Action group has instant withdrawals that allows you to get up to £500 a week instantly, or much more if you're a VIP. Ladbrokes is also instant to Neteller. And both Casino365 and Bodog pay within an hour or two.

Cherry are not on Simmo's list of Instant Withdrawal sites, and I looked at their terms and it says withdrawals are "processed within 24 hours on the next business day," and quotes Neteller times as "one business day". So even if they're fast, they're clearly not the fastest by any stretch.

I don't actually care myself, as I've never played at Cherry and probably will, but it did strike me as a misrepresentation, and particularly bad given it's displayed on CM.

The Cherry group is one of the best, most under-stated operations out there. There has NEVER been an issue with a Cherry casino. That's a phenomenal record. So what they don't pay instantly? - they pay within the day.

Your right, ive personally heard many good things about The Cherry Group.

Cherry Casino has actually been in the gambling industry for over 40 years and has run there online casino since late 1996.

Great Casino to say the least.

They may well be great, but the OP's point is they are saying 'No one pays faster' - which sounds like it is not true.
Therefore it is a lie - which is not something one would like to see from a reputable casino.

Yes that's precisely my point.

I'm not saying anything bad about Cherry in general (as I've said, I have never played there, so how would I know), but a great casino should not have misleading claims.

I take CM-approvedness seriously; if a CM banner says X, I believe X, because I trust CM. So I think that they should be asked to change their banner and remove the misleading claim. No doubt they won't have a problem doing this, given that they are reputable.

Not to start a fight with anybody, but are you going to also attack casinos that put "Best online casino" on their banners as well?

It is an advertising slogan - which if they keep their payments fast, I see no problem with it.

"Best online casino" is a matter of opinion and subject to interpretation.

"No one pays faster" is a statement or claim and really is not open to interpretation.

I can ignore "best online casino" but I think the "No one pays faster" should either be changed, or else they must live up to this claim.

I have to agree with Peralis here; it's an advertising claim.

I'm going to the very extreme here, but are you going to hold a strict "truth in advertising" to all of the banners here? From about 10 minutes of simply refreshing the page:

1. River Belle's banner promises 500 free spins ... no mention, however, that you have to be a new player and not an existing one.

2. Sands of the Caribbean's banner touts "100% match deposit exclusively at Sands" ... I know of quite a few other casinos who offer the same percentage match deposit.

3. VIP Casinos' banner advertises "Get $600 free" ... however, it doesn't mention the fine print that a player can't get the last bonus offer (a reload of 20% up to $300) "[i]f your account shows a lifetime profit (Deposits - withdrawals -account balance = any negative number)".

4. VIP Casinos' other banner advertises that a player will "Win a trip to Las Vegas" ... I'm pretty sure that's not a guarantee.

Yes, I'm being nitpicky and I'm sure I'll get blasted for it ... it just seems to me that's what others are doing by picking on Cherry's banner.
I don't abuse bonuses, I just shake the sh!t out of 'em!

I do take your point; advertising often (usually?) only tells part of the story.

However I singled out Cherry because that is a different case. They are making a claim which is quite simply not true at all.

In your other examples, there is usually truth to the claim - you can get $600 in bonuses at VIP (just most people won't); you can get 500 spins if you are a new user at River Belle. The 'exclusive' word is indeed untruthful at Sands, but it is partly defensible by saying that THIS bonus is exclusive - other 100%s are different in some way.

That's standard practice in advertising. If you see an advert on TV claiming that XYZ Powder cleans whiter than other brands, they mean specific other brands that they tested against in specific laboratory conditions and therefore not all users will benefit in the way indicated. That's acceptable, because the advert will carry a disclaimer indicating the limitations of their claim. By contrast, if an advert on TV said "We'll deliver faster than any other supplier" without qualification, and that was demonstrably not true, they would have to remove or change the advert (presuming someone complained). At least that's how it works in the UK, with the Advertising Standards Agency.

What would you say if there was a casino banner at CM that said "100% bonus to £500!" and actually the bonus was 50% to £250. Surely you'd think that was misleading advertising? Although that's clearly MORE misleading than the Cherry example, they're both still making untrue claims, and if one is unacceptable then they both should be.

Anyway, as I say, I don't care about Cherry in particular, it just struck me as misleading and not what I'd expect from an A+ casino.
