Yeah that is a classic you can never tire of. And incidentally, i used to get a question on one of those Pub-based quiz machines that said "In which pre-automobile movie can a car be seen in one of the background scenes?"

And the answer apparently was Ben Hur. But i've yet to spot it

I have a copy of that particular DVD (via China for .60 cents ), and I'll check it out tonight. At least we can assume it's not in the scene where the slaves are rowing in the lower-decks of the ship (now THAT would be weird).

You want a creepy movie blunder, check out "Three Men & A Little Baby". My sisters were constantly searching it to find some scene with a ghost in it. So I joined in on the action, and within 5 minutes, I spotted-it*. You hear so many stories about this boy (the supposed "ghost") who was killed in that very apartment (by his father) roughly 2-years before they shot the movie (downtown apartment in Toronto). To this day, IF the movie is playing on TV, I refuse to look at the scene. It's not really THAT scary, but the part that the boy didn't appear in the theater version, BUT he does in the video/TV version creeps-me-out.

*If you wanted to know what scene it was, it's when Ted Danson is talking with his mother (daytime) about the "baby", and he starts walking across the room. While the camera pans with Danson, you can see a boy standing next to the door of a far off room in the background. I once believed that it was the cardboard cut-out of Ted Danson (in the movie), but it can't be because it's really an image of a boy!

Sidenote: I'm just waiting for the day when George Romero addresses the media and states how some of the zombies in Dawn Of The Dead (1977) were people in make-up, and the others he's not sure about.

I do know that there's a scene in "REVENGE OF THE...", pardon me, "RETURN OF THE JEDI" where there's a sneaker (prop) used as a spaceship, instead of a model.

You must understand Simmo!, there are certain budget limitations (and eons of red tape to clear in order...) to making these types of films. To even get The Imperials & The Rebel Alliance in the same room, to iron-out how we were going to pull-off those stunt scenes, was a daunting task indeed (with all our historical differences and such). Thank George Lucas & Co. for getting us all on the same page for once.

To be honest, we had all of our ships intact, we were okay. It's The "trashy" Rebel Alliance that couldn't support enough ships for those great battle scenes, as we had destroyed so many ships within their fleet in the months leading up to filming . Lucas was forced to use models as ships (and apparently one sneaker), and he only did so in the editing room. Hell, we had to slow down our ships just so those X-Wing fighters could keep up. Did you really think a ship like the B-Wing could really exist (Moahahahaha)? That would have been a REAL bitch to land.

And just to let you know, once filming had been completed for Return of The Jedi (a VERY misleading representation of our historical battles I might add), and as soon as Lucas and crew had been escorted back to earth, we pulverized all remaining Rebel ships. Boy, those were the days.

I haven't seen Lanidar in some time.

But I don't always have the time to read every post (such a busy board, Bryan!!!! ) so I may just have missed him.

    Hi Dominique,

I've seen his name pop-up over at another site which Suzecat brought to my attention earlier in this thread, that being "This Casino Sucks".

Sidenote: I went there out of curiosity (hey, I'm a special agent after all, I still have to go undercover once in a blue moon ), as to locate the current whereabouts of "Richard Hamilton".

Lanidar used to post everywhere and I just wondered why he suddenly disappeared. He used to go into tirades about Virtual. Then he went poof...
