Do you think the players should form a union

and demand that some casinos changes their practices? Such as processing time limits, crazy WR on bonuses, make bonuses cashable if they are accepted, etc. I see more and more casinos are getting away with lying a deceiting their customers. I think we should form something and make a stand and change in the online world.

The most successful casinos treat their players well, I'm sure. The industry will continue to mature, and rogues will be left in the dust, with no player base. Thanks to efforts like eCogra, and good places to provide information so the players can stay informed, like Casinomeister.

Your name isn't Steve Adkins is it? Just kidding. There was an effort a few years back. It was called the Online Player's Association. The organization did do a lot of good, and there were many good people involved. But the president of the OPA, Steve Adkins turned out to be, how should I say, a little shady.

But I kind of miss the guy. He was a real piece of work.

    Ah, the good ole' days

Last I heard he was in Jail.

    From the IRS Web site:

Fraudulent Charity Operator Sentenced to 130 Months in Prison

On March 27, 2003, in Cincinnati, OH, Samuel A. Ashley, a.k.a. Steve Adkins, was sentenced to 130 months in prison for his part in the operation of the Emergency Food Center, a fraudulent charity that solicited million of dollars from local residents purportedly to feed the hungry. Ashley pled guilty to tax evasion and mail fraud. Funds were raised through the use of telemarketers, direct mail solicitation and individuals that solicited cash at shopping malls. A majority of the funds were used by Ashley to support his gambling addiction and lavish lifestyle.

    I agree with that.

Rogues don't need a player base - there's millions of potential new gamblers to screw every day!

As they say, there's one born every minute!

I hear what you're saying. Perhaps I am being naive. But to me it sure seems short-sighted of the casinos to screw over the players for a short-run profit. I wish I had a crystal ball to see what the industry will be like in another five years. It's still a fledgling industry. If only the U.S. would legalize and regulate it.

** Well, here are my thoughts on this. [I do seem to have many of them lately]
The problem with have a Union run by players is [imho]
Would you be objective - have your OWN interest AND that of the casino in mind?
    I doubt it.
AND then.. I do recall something that happened earlier this year. A player with loads of money started the dream. Now he is an arrogant person, and slag everyone who does not 'conform' to his ideas and will.
    It is hard.
Who do you choose to 'head' this thing? Those with the interest? Those with the money? Those who agrees with your ideas?
I would say that, there are a few players, who happens to be webmasters too, who'd be quite suitable to be REPRESENTATIVES for the players. Clearminded, clearheaded, 'both side of the coin' realistic individuals. Yet, even their input would be contested by some players. Look around at this board! Good pple, good ideas.. DIVERSE does not even begin to describe it.
Bryan does his bit, Spear and KK theirs, Dom does hers... Yet, there are STILL a bunch of fake complaints and cheating players too...
    A union? Yah, sure. **
