Call me an old cynic () but that first post looked a bit shilly to me - the way the casino name was dropped in 3 times, but if that was the case it back-fired because the thread revealed they are a rogue outfit!
900, if you are a genuine player I apologise for the above sentence, congratulate you on your win, and advise you not to worry about the money you have received - once it is in your bank they can't touch it.

Any cheque I deposit in my bank is only subject to a two week hold. That's normally enough time for a cheque to clear.
A friend's dad got scammed when he sold his boat. The cheque supposed cleared, and he let the boat leave his house. It was about 3 weeks after that when it turned out the cheque was fraudulent. A business might not see their bank statement until as much as 4 weeks after an instrument is withdrawn from their account, and by the time it's reviewed and the bank informed, and an investigation done, it's much longer than two weeks.
I think when dealing with known crooks it's best to err on the side of caution if spending the funds will leave your account overdrawn and subject to penalties. JMO.
I see a recent post here where a forum member who I'm confident is not a scammer has not had his donation to Spearmaster's fund from about 5 weeks ago not yet clear his bank.
Thanks to all of you for your input regarding my winnings from Golden Casino. And, no I am not a shill for "GC" although I have played at Golden Casino for 4 years now. They do not take US players anymore and I really thought I'd never win until four months ago when I won $900. It took about three weeks to get the check (there's a 72 hour hold - 9 days - and then it took a couple weeks to get it in the mail). It cleared and I have had no problems with my bank. I won $4000 a month ago and it took a little longer to get the check (4 weeks) and in fact, I got two checks -- one for $3,000 and another about a week later for $960 (there was a $40 express mail fee). They both cleared my account. Both checks were from the Royal Bank of Canada, New York Branch. I then won another $4000 on Jan. 22 and am waiting on the check(s). You may think that I am lucky, but consider that I have gambled at this casino for four years without any withdrawals of winnings. I think I will take one of the posts to heart and wait at least 45 days before I touch the money. Also, I appreciate the suggestion to take the money out of my bank and put it elsewhere one it clears. I did think that once the checks cleared and the money was in my account that I was home free but I guess that's not the case. How long can the authorities confiscate it if it's not legal? I'm still a bit bewildered and confused about these winnings. Again, the too good to be true thing! Thanks again for all your help! Hope you win a bundle!
