Alright so I wasn't so much gonna blow the lid off this idea yet, but like usual...I'm a fuckup.

it's 6:45 am here, my girlfriend's sick, I've been taking care of her and 1-1/2 bottles of wine later I'm not really thinking straight.

Okay. You read this far. Here's the thing. I have this bot system built into my software, into sapphire. Actually what it is, it's a bot I wrote that's integrated with the system, and it can play on bot-friendly tables on the software. But I didn't write how it plays. I wrote a piece of code that analyzes the play strategies of the best real players on the site and then applies them to whatever situation comes up. It's kind of fun 'cause right now I've only got two personalities on there, one is my brother, and when he plays against himself as a bot he's completely screwed by it. It works pretty well.

So I'm thinking I want to add a few more personalities to these bots but the only way I can do it is to have a whole bunch of hands for the bots to analyze. Meanwhile I'm trying to raise money for the software. So I don't have a lot of money to give away right now.

What I'm thinking is maybe I could do something like this. Set up a series of 3 freerolls where the whole pot is only like $300 or something. But the top 2 players get to have their personalities turned into bots, and get to keep 10% of their bot-personality's winnings on the site, on all tables, forever, once we actually get launched and start having real games.

Anyone interested?

Why do you need bots in your software to begin with?

I thought the idea of poker is people vs people? Id be pissed if I found out I was playing against a computer.

I will eat your BOT- last 13 cash tournaments I have been in I have cashed out 9 times- bubbles twice and lost the others fair and spaure. Im so on the cards right now.

If you were good at the game you wouldnt even consider a BOT- this pretty muchs tells the story here I think.

Uh, before you attack me...you don't understand.

I spent the last 3 years writing poker/casino software that I'm trying to launch as a site. I'm a poker player myself, and I don't like playing against bots, and I don't think they should be allowed at money tables with real players, but I also think the guys who write bots should have somewhere to go to test them out with each other, and real players should be able to play against them if they want to, knowing that they're bots because they're marked that way.

So my bots are house bots that will play against player bots and any players who feel like going onto the bot tables at the site to play against them. Does that make more sense?

[edit] and just to be clear, the software always marks bots as bots, so you know who you're playing against. This is because bots are inevitable and they're not bad for a casino, but they are bad for players. What that means is we need them to follow certain rules: Always be marked as bots, and always stay on the bot tables.[/e]

As long as bots can't be programed to be sore losers, like the pillock who had a go at me last night (called me and idiot & a donk) for calling his raise when I had 4-5 suited and made the flush which beat him... then I'm all for them!

(BTW I went on to win the SnG - not bad for an idiot donk!)

So the ONLY safeguard a real player has is that you are promising to 'mark' them as bots. You are asking players to 100% trust that you won't employ them ' unmarked' to improve your bottom line. Not very encouraging.

Also, you offer the winners 10% of winnings generated by their 'bot' in a poker room that, by your own admission, probably won't ever get started.

I enjoy reading your progress posts, but i still think you are barking up the wrong tree. Sell it and let someone else take all the risks.

Ha ha. In cash games I intentionally make out-of-odds calls on guys like this - when you hit they have a melt down and then come after you, then their chips are pretty much yours.
