DuplicatePoker claim they are legal is US

    Hi,

A friend of mine emailed me about www.DuplicatePoker.com.
On their website they claim that they are "The ONLY legal US poker room!".
    Have a look here:
    http://www.duplicatepoker.com/about/legal.aspx
    Is this bullshit ?
They also claim they are legal in France where even Rummy is illegal while it's legal in the US (it is considered as a game of skill and not a game of chance).
For example www.RummyRoyal.com say they are legal in the US, they have the Paypal acreditation, while their french website www.RamiRoyal.com isn't so positive about this fact.

They've been accredited here for about a year and yes, they are legal in the States (most states at least). My legal council reviewed their business structure etc. and it's good to go.

If you were accessing this site from the States, you'd only see their banners.

They can accept Paypal and CC from US players as far as I know.

    Incredible !
Have you played there, is the game interesting ?
I have to dig into their website to understand how they've managed to make their poker more a skill game than a game of chance especially in regard of the US law.

That's because it's poker, but isn't played out the way you think.

Beat opponents at other tables by achieving a better score - with the same cards!

I wouldn't call it real poker. It's based on duplicate bridge.

Honestly... I think that duplicate poker's game structure is more a game of chance rather than a game of skill. It blows my mind that they can advertise it as they do. I've played fifty dollars on there and I have beat my table several times, only to be beaten by the guy at another table getting the same cards.

It seems the main factor in the game is.. the worse your opponents are, the better your chances of winning because.. even if you play correctly, the guy at the other table could have people betting ridiculously and forfeiting their chips.

.. Although I may just be sore about it because I lost even though I was table chip leader.
