This goes rather deep, but some of you will recall the rouge pit dwellers of the old poker sites of Future Bet. In 2007, after a long period of stiffing not only players but operators, FutureBet shut down operations after losing the rights to use the Dobrosoft software license (as they were not paying the license fees). The old poker rooms all used the same basic (and crappy) software called "The Poker Community, the licencensees although had branded "felt" and a lobby with their logo all had the same "Poker Community" software. Late 2007 all the sites were shut off.
During this period of time, a "new" entity raised it's head, if memory serves late September 07. Using the same "Poker Community" the sites were part of IGS (Igaming Software) they were sold a tale that this was a poker network and the answer to FutureBet's woes. Funny thing is that the same folks that ran FB now ran IGS, both located in Vancouver and yes same tourney director, phone etc. Although they denied any claims they were future bet.
All this time Merge network is building steam and signing rooms from failed attempts to operate on IGS. In very early 2008, along comes IGS again and in true fashion lure small time, shallow pocket investors with a great software platform and actually con the prospective licensees into believing they were getting a site on Merge, (As Big Daddy will swear they are on). Funny thing is... the poker (and flash Casino + book) are using a control panel called "mms" and "boe" these are FB/IGS staples. Also, once again, "The Poker Community" raises out of the ashes. And... dear readers... the cashier is not contained in the poker client (like a real merge network site) but uses the dreaded "Click Cashier" long known for non payment.
You may wonder how I know all this... that is a another story, that I do not wish to go into here (for now). I will say I wound up working for two of these licensees at a point in my life.
Now then, as I said, BD will swear they are on Merge, but here is a test:
Log on to your favorite merge software site like, Carbon Poker, Poker Nordica, PDC, Iron Duke etc, and click the cashier button, you stay there right? Now get "the Poker Community software (it is licensed to IGS and they sell franchisees of sorts), click the cashier button and web browser opens and you arrive at "Click Cashier". Also in the lobby, all games carry across the network so if there is a freeroll at one site called "Dom's Daily" you will see it on all. In fact, you only need one download to play at all the sites on this network.
Last Summer, deposits (always) were going in and cash outs (to US players) were also going though with the use of ewalletXpress. One day they stopped and cash outs were no longer working. After speaking to the "powers that be" at IGS I was told it was an issue with ewalletXpress, but... (here we go again) at the same time I had a cash out process in less than 12 hours from a "true" Merge network site on to my ewalletXpress. Sounds like crap to me...
The sites now have added Pic-Club to the available methods and IMO, Pic-Club is the best method out there as I can cash out from a site in seconds, not hours. I am not going to test the click cashier using it though. I still think there is too much risk involved with the FutureBet/IGS thieves.
Oops, Almost left this out: The owner at IGS is non other than our FutureBet Buddy Mr. Ron Katz.
Now then, apologies for the length of this post, but now you know who Big Daddy is as well as The Poker Community and IGS.
The Casino is a nice small flash casino, I would recommend play money if you are compelled to play it. Also, I must add, the owner of Big Daddy is not a bad guy, actually is above board, just got suckered into the network. He was planning on moving processing and the software to be 100% merge but that has not happened as of this post.
