I won 1100 on a slot at the hard rock and that wasn't taxed..was quite surprised as I thought anything over 1k was taxed but the hand pay did not come up and was able to cash out the whole thing. On the lottery and prizes it's a different story...anything over 600.00 is correct. I wonder why they have different tax amounts for gambling? I thought they came under the same jurisdiction.
    Waiting on something interesting

    Minnesota Lottery, online gambling?

Funny I should find this after my original post about second chance scratch tickets and if it was online gambling.

Looks like the Minnesota Lottery took it upon them self to offer online ticket sales without any legislative approval. It also appears now that state lotteries could even expand to online games and much more if this is found to be in fact legal and without remonstration. Time will tell.

I found this to be a very interesting development and one should not dismiss the power of state lotteries.

A quiet revolution in gambling is underway in Minnesota.

Without a single press release or announcement, the Minnesota State Lottery is nearly a year into an experiment to get more Minnesotans to gamble online through a subscription lottery service.

Private online gambling is illegal in Minnesota, and the state's elected leaders have turned back various gambling expansion proposals and online gambling ventures.

Odds on scratch tickets end up being pretty close to slots (depending on where you are of course). Payouts start at 65% typically.

    Just sayin'.
